I've done hotel housing before with SoCal Dream All AGE (DCA), but now I'm with Impulse (DCI Open Class). This is gonna be fun...

  13. For Release Time 11/23/18 2019 Caption Head Announcement! Riverside, CA— 11/23/18 — On the heels of the recent announcement of the new 2019 drill designer, Ryan H. Turner, Watchmen Drum and Bugle Corps is pleased to announce their 2019 Instructional Leadership Team. Returning from 2018, Marcel Barragan (Front Ensemble ), Maritza Yvette Ramirez (Color Guard) and Israel (Izzy) Martinez (Visual) will bring their considerable talents, experience and skill to their respective captions for 2019. New to Watchmen is Brandon Johnson who will serve as the new Percussion Caption Supervisor for the corps. Brandon has extensive performance, instruction and writing experience, and is extremely excited to be part of the new direction Watchmen is planning in 2019. “Coming off a very successful 2018 season, we are thrilled to have so many of the 2018 pieces remain intact,” said David Becker, Executive Director. “Not only are we expect great things and a totally new look for the 2019, but so are our potential members!” The Caption Heads and Design Team have already met during the past months to solidify and develop the 2019 program, plus coordinate instructional goals and strategies. “This has really set the tone for 2019,” said Michael Nash, Tour Manager. “The continued commitment to excellence demonstrated by all is integral to the success of the organization moving forward.   14. For Release Time 11/19/18 Watchmen Welcomes New Drill Designer—Ryan H. Turner Riverside, CA— 11/18918 — The Watchmen Drum and Bugle Corps is proud to welcome their 2019 drill designer Ryan H. Turner to the design team. “We are extremely excited to have his talent and unmatched passion for the marching arts to share with our organization,” said David Becker, Executive Director for The Watchmen. New Direction, Huge Potential Turner is well known in the marching arts world, having been involved in any number of roles since marching his first parade as a 7th grader in 1978. Since then, he has built for himself a reputation of extreme enthusiasm, humor, and creativity which he brings to the many projects and organizations he has been involved with in his nearly 40 years in the marching arts. Having produced more than 225 show designs for various marching bands, drum corps, indoor drum lines, and winter guards across the country, Turner draws from a wide palette in his design endeavors. “Having seen his show designs over the years, I can’t wait to see what he has for us in 2019,” said Michael Nash, Marketing /Tour Manager. “He’s driven to exceed expectations, and that’s what we are looking for with our production this year.” Honored and Excited With his numerous writing credits in his 35 years of writing, one would think that’s enough. But he does much more in the marching arts. Known for his announcing abilities, he’s been dubbed the “Voice of Southern California” and has been announcing DCI shows on the west coast for over 25 years. He also recently started his own leadership consulting business called “Dynamics of Leadership” and gives leadership and motivational seminars to student leadership teams of marching band programs across the country. Professionally, he has enjoyed a 30 year career in the public safety/911 communications industry, and currently serves as the Senior Supervisor of Training and Education for the Orange County Fire Authority, the fourth largest fire department in California, headquartered in Irvine, California.   15. Just an FYI to Host a show can cost a corps up to $10,000 or more... The biggest issue is housing / rehearsal site with the school districts in California, that's whay alot of shows have dropped out.

  17. Watchmen enters into the 2018 season in their fifth year of competition, and they are stronger than ever. Starting as a brass ensemble in 2013, Watchmen has grown into a full size open class corps and will be touring this year in California, Arizona, Utah, and Colorado. This year’s production is entitled “Altered”, where they will test your altered states. The original composition by Harry Hutchins and Paul Rendon comes in four movements and will evoke images of psychological manipulation, covert intelligence, and mind control. Will chaos ensue?
