  1. I have seen the new uniform in person. TRUST ME.....When you see the front up close, you will see a big difference. The bottom half of the front cuts in towards the center. The black wraps around to the front. The front ends up looking more like a green shield. You'll know what I mean when you see a closer picture. It also looks very different to see the black back and the sash printed onto the uniform.
  2. Bluecoats would also do a good job, i bet.
  3. So, I am sitting here watching VH1. It is all M.J. videos. There is some awesome music. If a corps were to do a tribute to M.J. show, who would it be? I say Blue Devils or Cavaliers.
  4. I would put Crown and Cadets above them. Possibly Cavaliers. I don't dig their show. I enjoyed SCV more as far as being entertained.
  5. I agree. Individuals every where. No balance. Over blowing to the point of bad tone.
  6. Percussion........If you are going to play that many notes, they must be clean. Good luck
  7. They have a low brass section? I thought it was all trumpets
  8. Drew S. is an intense guy. He marched Cadets and taught Cavaliers hornline back in 2000 when they played balls out. I look for him to write a very aggressive and tough horn book. If they get that and keep everything else at the current level.............. Watch Out!
  9. I understand what you are saying, but it was actually paying tribute to the members. The videos was for the members. Every corps turned to face the screen. I am all for discipline, but let kids be kids some times. No one was goofing off during this moment in any corps. I felt bad for the cadets kids during this part of retreat. The entire stadium, crowd and corps watched the video, except cadets kids. They missed out.
  10. How is this live feed happening? Who is doing it?
  11. Can we move on from bashing cavaliers horn book. For those of you who argue that they don't play loud enough or enough notes, you could also say that no corps. in the activity touches them in drill design or plays with the tone quality they do. The strong corps. all have something they are great at and captions that are not at the top. Not every corps. can win every caption every year. Look at the past DCI champions. How many times has the champion swept every caption? My point, the best corps out there will not always be the best in every caption. So stop bashing great corps.! I have a ring and my corps didn't sweep every caption, but we were the best corps. in the World that year. It is the corps/group result that these kids are striving for.
  12. Deman is MUCH, MUCH harder these days than in the past. You can't argue that.
  13. I think we will see the regional tour type of schedule happen much more next year. Corps will stay local until the end. Another option is less small shows and more big shows. If we were to limit the number of shows to Thursday-Sunday and have each show be bigger, corps could stay in one place Monday-Wednesday. I see a lot of small shows. What if we had less shows, but each show was a bigger show? I think this would make everyone happy.
  14. It can be a good or bad thing. Most of the time a new ending is a good thing because it is a better ending. Some corps stick an easy ending on as a temporary thing at every days. Then put the real ending on later. Most corps "new" endings are effective and exciting which can generate more GE at the end of a show. In that case, it will help a corps. Of course, if you come out with a new, dirty ending it can hurt. These days with themes and stories, new endings can serve as a wrap up or closure to the story. I could see Phantom and Cavaliers coming out with this type of ending this weekend.
