  1. I have a snare harness that is of no use to me. If anybody in Portland, Oregon wants it, just let me know. Fiberglass is intact. J hooks are sturdy. It's just not something I need and is going to get thrown away.
  2. I was there. Cadets were awesome.
  3. I know, right? If Devs win one more time, I'm gunna barf in a sack and mail it to their corps hall. Hahahahaha
  4. The redundant winning of certain groups could indicate that the judges are doing fair, objective adjudicating, rather than allowing sentiment guide their assessments. Personally, I think that's a good thing. Also, go Cadets!
  5. P.S. Email me if you want to discuss this: rpcox@yahoo.com
  6. I only needed this drum for I&E, and I don't want to take it home. I'm in Rochester now. I'm going home early Sunday morning. First $80 gets it. I paid $200 for it, two months ago. It's got chipped paint on the rims, but it works great. White Max batter head and Falam resonant head. $80 and it's yours. Take it home and sell it on Craigslist for $200. Or use it to grow marijuana. Or to build a space radar. Or to attract bears. If someone doesn't buy this thing, I'm throwing it in the river tomorrow night. Dead serious.
  7. Good call, Doyle. Unfortunately, nobody in town has that model. 😔
  8. So I'm here in Rochester, getting ready for the big weekend. I'd planned on buying a snare drum stand at a local music store, to use for my I&E performance, but no store in Rochester carries full-height stands. Is anybody here in town who would be willing to loan me a stand until tomorrow??? Please?????
  9. Howdy, I'm participating in the DCA individuals contest, and I need a place to stay in Rochester, that week(end). I'll be arriving on Thursday night, and I'll be leaving Sunday morning. Does anybody have ideas on inexpensive places to stay? I've been researching hotel prices, and they're considerably more than I can afford. Feel free to shoot me a private message if you have any ideas. Thanks.
  10. I'd love to. I live in Portland, Oregon. There aren't any DCA corps close by.
  11. Fellow Drum corps enthusiasts, I want to compete in this year's snare drum I&E, but I don't have enough money for the plane ticket and hotel room, so I set up a GoFundMe account, in hopes that other people would pitch in and help. I'm trying to raise a total of $1,000, and if 100 people donate ten bucks, I should be able to do it. I don't feel comfortable (at all) asking other folks for money. I never have. But I really want to do this, so I set the thing up. Here's a rough sketch of what my solo might look like. Thanks, in advance, for any contribution you make, no matter how big or small. Solo ideas, Part 1: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LjX8Pk588V8 Solo ideas, part 2: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=n8VT0Z75v8c Here's the link to the donation page: gofundme.com/ryansdcatrip15 And, again, any amount you can donate makes a big difference to me, whether it's a dollar or fifty dollars. Thanks for your help!
  12. P.S. I acknowledge that it was irresponsible of me to start contacting corps before having the financial stuff in order. I got excited, and I was hoping that a way would sort of present itself. Stupidity on my part.
  13. Hey Ray, I spoke at length with the percussion director from a corps in New York, and I spent about a week looking at my finances, trying to figure out a way to move there, rent (or buy) a car, pay my bills, etc. I concluded that it was not feasible financially, so I opted out of doing drum corps this year. I am hoping to get onboard with someone next year, though.
