I think you would find that a great many here on DCP give quite generously to the activity. Regardless of tax benefit, it still makes more sense to give directly to our corps of choice than to donate via GoFundMe. GoFundMe takes their cut whereas the corps gets 100% when donating directly.

I had all three discs from ‘74 but they are long gone, as is my tower of analog phonographic equipment. Man, that was a sweet system.

There was what I consider a minor issue with state filings (501c3 nonprofit vs. charity certificate). That could have been handled by going to Cadets directly and not brought up at all on DCP. It’s this sort of thing that begs the OP’s question, I think.
