  5. Excited to share this news, announced today through the corps' website and social media. Coming off an incredible spin clinic where over 40 recruits were in attendance, The Bushwackers are excited to announce the addition of 5 outstanding designers to our guard caption for the 2016 season. John Lemire Eric Babula Philip Traini Michael Kinner Bert Serrano Along with caption supervisor, WGI & World Drum Corps Hall of Famer Mickey Kelly, and caption manager Lauryn Heller, this team of designers are no strangers to producing award winning programs. The corps is anxiously waiting to see what lies ahead for the guard as this team of designers makes the 2016 production PianoForte come to life. WGI hall of fame member and 2016 Bushwacker drill designer Vince Monacelli, noted for his ground breaking work in the guard realm, will undoubtedly set everything in motion with attention to detail as we try and set new standards for the Bushwacker guard program. We're excited to enter the spring season strong after a successful winter, and these wonderful additions to the design team only adds more energy as the corps takes the necessary steps forward during our 35th anniversary season.
  6. Here's the full announcement. The Bushwackers Drum Corps from Princeton, New Jersey is pleased to announce the addition of Joe Roche to the 2016 educational team as visual program consultant. Joe began his drum corps career in 1976 as a member of the Southern Tier Grenadiers in Binghamton, New York. He then marched with the Watkins Glen Squires as a soprano player and then a snare drummer in 1980 and 1981. The next challenge for Joe was the Garfield Cadets as a mellophone player, where he aged out in 1985. Following this, Joe joined the Cadets’ visual staff in 1987 and rose to the rank of visual caption head for 1989 through 1992. Since then, Joe has remained active as an adjudicator and instructor in the pageantry world across the country. In addition to his role with the Cadets, Joe has served on the visual staffs of Star of Indiana, Madison Scouts, Long Island Sunrisers, and the Connecticut Hurricanes. Joe is active as a member of the New York Federation of Contest Judges and works the fall and winter seasons in New York State adjudicating in the pageantry world. He recently retired from the US Army after over 20 years of active service. Joe runs his own consulting business, Achieve!, a motivational coaching company serving marching bands and other student groups across America. Joe is living with his wife Carolee in New Hartford, New York. “We are looking forward to Joe’s intense and motivational visual rehearsals. As visual program consultant for the 35th anniversary year for the Bushwackers, Joe’s expertise will help the 2016 edition of the corps take their performance to a higher level of excellence,” said Jay Morlot, co-executive director of the Bushwackers Drum Corps. Join us for the Bushwackers Open House on November 22, and be a part of our 35th anniversary season!
