Well I would’ve told parents that’s the thing. They took a chance. Do you think really no one was on guard for the past 6 years? Lol. Which of course I would’ve had people on guard. Don’t think for once they weren’t watching him lol. If he does it again of course termination and announcement.

Yeah you’re right he does. There’s an article from the actual incident back in 2010. It’s a literal report of what happened. Timeline. Etc. I found this on my own. I didn’t know this was going to happen it’s been a shock to all us, we are upset about it. No. It would not be stronger. That man knows how to run a financially stable and drum corps. But the corps members is what makes a drum corps stronger. The leadership team at the drum corps is already changing a lot of things.

Of course they should be told. But how long do hold something over someone’s head after you know they’ve changed personally? Working alongside them for 6 years? Your friend? (personal answer?) I try to think about it in my shoes sometimes. It’s like holding things over my mother lol. But I forward as almost forgiveness which is part of my values and so many others and knowing that someone has changed for the better. (Opinion)

You’re right they just don’t hire them. They go through the process of should we. It was wrong for what he did. He was punished for what he did. They never engaged in anything except texting if you actually read the real article and not that bias piece of news. You should go find the real article. You would know that he got his certification taken away and resigned. So... let’s say this.. Step into his shoes you messed up. BAD. You’re looking for a job. This one is given to you by the Grace of God. The Morrison’s saw something in him that’s why they hired him. People do change, though there past is reported. Some people don’t. I believe he’s been a great influence on us kids as performers and young adults during his time with us. (Oh no an opinion). But I know that doesn’t change your opinion which I’m glad you keep. But we’ll come out of this stronger than ever! Because that’s what the real BONES are about!

Read what Fred sent every member and every parent. Fred said how he came to Crossmen and he was forthcoming in what he did and he meant. At least he came forward about what he did and I can guarantee he just didn’t welcome him to the family. I agree consensual and sensual is just as bad and I’m not disagreeing but what Fred did was giving the man a second chance to start over which a lot of people won’t do. Saying and doing are 2 hugely different things but of the same color. If there was actually a problem in these past years he would’ve been terminated just like any other member has been these past years.

Well I’m kind of done talking about it. Gender aside. Everyone is hurting for this happen to our organization as well. It sucks what’s happening to the activity at this point in time. We’ll still have a great season! We’ll be the strongest Crossmen ever coming out of the gates and we’ll push forwards. When all is gone..

Maybe not new members at this moment, but a lot of current vets and past were aware just because public interaction and speaking with other vets. The article of the first occurrence is available to the public on the internet. Though with all this going on. Not one vet would ever hold it against Joel because of what he does for the organization. I never ran into one veteran that was just like look what he did. Because he’s not the same person he used to be and of course things come back to haunt you and it was obvious this could happen. Sure maybe it could have been brought up into view of current members every year?! But this man is trying to move on with his life and work on his future and trying to get back on his feet and to have a every year thing to have the “Joel” talk. I know he’s sorry for his actions in his past. But It shouldn’t be necessarily needed to go over and over again every year Truthfully when I first met Joel he was the coolest dude ever and I love Joel! He’s been a great part of my experience as a member. But even when I found out about this during my second year my view of Joel never changed because I knew he was a changed man. If that doesn’t mean anything to anyone sorry. But it’s just a good view from a member. Not one vet would be offended and hold it completely against him because of what he does for our organization. But we are accepting of what is going on. We’re still going to have a good season and we’ll push forward and be strong.

Well sitting here and talking about people isn’t good either, especially if you don’t know them very well. The Morrison’s are great people and I could assure you that nothing has been ignored. The Crossmen policy about sexual harassment and sexual misconduct is strongly enforced. But starting topics about this stuff is going to hurt the drum corps community more than a newspaper article. We aren’t the last either. More stories are sure to come out from other corps. So do we gossip about them or let the actual corps and DCI board of directors take action on what to do. The opinions on these forums don’t matter anyways but if you had decent common sense and courtesy you would stay out of things like this and keep it too your self.

This could also depend on when you marched/tried out? Just so you know and you should know, everyone gets fussed at if they mess up and if it so happens to be women or men that mess up they’ll get griped on. The audition process is fair!! Women are held up to the standard as guys! If men just so happen to have the better auditon because they’re “stronger” and they can hold the horn up and play it is what is. A drum corps doesn’t stop for anyone in particular if one is better than the other. Is that how auditions work? The better audition gets the spot? You can choose to take that as a sexist approach or be an adult and see that huh maybe there’s just people better for the position and it just so happens to be men dominant. The Morrison’s are running a full fledged organization on the road and off the road and they do a very #### good job at it! I’ve never met the most nicest and caring people! These people paid for my plane ticket to get home personally when my grandfather died on tour so are these people “STUBBORN” “RUDE”?? Most organizations wouldn’t do this! These people personally check on how we’re doing individually! Maybe you didn’t have a good relationship with them maybe you got cut a Crossmen but I can tell you every member of the Crossmen will stand behind the Morrison’s and the job they do. Leaving Moody out of this.

How about instead of sitting at your computer and bad mouthing him you go talk to him yourself?

Don’t worry. We’ll be clean and we’ll be strong. The horn line is even better than last year. We have a higher average of music majors this year as well and the energy at camps is amazing! It’ll be a different group this year for sure and we’ll be learning how to really perform to the audience. Having all of are music is also something we didn’t have last year. We got our music for the closer when we were learning the closer during spring training so the preparation for this upcoming season is nothing close to where we were last year and we’re moving in a week earlier this year. We’re gonna bring Crossmen back to where they used to be. It’ll be an exciting summer!

All I can say as a hornline member is that the staff is amazing! The music is amazing! This show will be amazing!

As a hornline member from 16', I was hesitant about seeing the new visual and design staff come on. But now the new visual and design staff this year is absolutely incredible! I wouldn't want anyone else on our visual and design team! I can assure you that this staff is even better than the last year. Nothing has changed from this last year, except the level of detail we have been digging into and its getting better and better every camp!
