  1. Certainly understand the sensitive nature of this subject. Don't know how BOA and or WGI is structured with regards to these issues. (great discussion) However if either has policies in place that stipulate how they are handled, it may be a model to mirror. That's if DCI member corps agree to expand the arm of authority of DCI.
  2. I do agree there is some value in being transparent, but let’s not fool ourselves with what we would expect or like DCI to be to what DCI actually is, which is a show promoter for essentially its member corps not all of the activities corps.
  3. DCI would need to change their mission statement and expand on its services and capabilities as an organization which would require its member corps to accept. I doubt the resources are available to revise its foot print let alone extend its authority without a vote by its member corps.
  4. It’s not the responsibility of the organization that schedules and promotes shows for member corps to provide policy, processes and procedures, let alone disciplinary actions, unless the member corps put forth a proposal for the member corps to pass and agree to follow those requirements and procedures in the proposal.
  5. They were enforcing the rules established by its member corps. Nothing more or less. Basically you can break the laws but not the rules.
  6. No and shouldn’t. It’s has never been anything put a show scheduling and promotion company for shows. Its only responsiblity is to that of its member organizations and that is fiduciary.
  7. DCI is nothing more and nothing less that an show scheduling and promoting company. No different than any other promotional company. All else is for the matter of its member corps to vote and agree upon. The sooner they can distance themselves from this the sooner they can get back to promoting shows.
  8. All there is now is allegations - no criminal charges filed. I bet that people are on their best behavior this and next weekend.
  9. Bottom line - some thought that once Hopkins was gone and no charges filed this story would pass quickly and order could be restored in the activity. Once others came forward with similar accounts and stories of lore from RAMD surfaced, the ride is becoming a little bumpy. Some might have to resign and lose their cushion jobs for covering up this ugliest.
  10. Should permission be granted first or are the facts just not important to you? EVERYONE knows.
  11. There were many on RAMD with credibility issues especially Tattuna. DCP was spawn because of it. One word comes to mind ****
  12. Theoretically speaking why would he? BD’s dominance over Cadets is written all over that DCI Championship trophy.
  13. So when are we going to get some updates on the 2018 season production from the Bluecoats?
  14. Is it true that Poppycock is being considered?
  15. I’m beginning to think the same. Too late in the game to find CEO’s and Directors. Pretty close to move in and we don’t know if the organization is financially responsible to move forward.
  16. And Rich Templin has resigned as director of C2. I know that because he called me and told me so yesterday.
  17. An individual corps is one thing but DCA did nothing in 2013 after it was reported that a lifetime registered sex offender was identified and marching in one of the corps. Seen the individual marching on the Navy Marine Corps field in Annapolis.
  18. He’s in a few hall of fames and that status comes with perks. Not to mention he loves the attention. Most narcissistic people do.
  19. How long before GH is awarded a lifetime ban from attending any DCI or DCA sanctioned show including corps rehearsals?
  20. I took a deep breath and smiled after reading about the new board. The drum corps community made me proud today.
