  1. Wondering if there's anyone who knows for sure and can confirm this for me. That ballad and the visuals with it. Are they referencing Columbine as the memory there? It sure looks like it the more I study it. Some rushing into a classroom (a ring of mirrors) to hide, Tubas hiding behind their instruments, colorguard covering their ears. Then when the guard starts dancing with the sheer fabrics, I counted them and the numbers match the victims. Is that where they meant to go or is it coincidence? Because when I view it with this in mind, it becomes an absolutely harrowing ballad to watch emotionally.
  2. After listening to the Darcie Aungst video explaining the concept of the show, I viewed it and really enjoyed it. The staging and use of the prop breaking up the nation, changing power between factions with the scepter. It's genius design. But there is a moment in the show where I feel like she snatches defeat from the jaws of victory. "Bridge Over Troubled Water" builds and builds, it swells to its final note and the emotion is swelling with it. It's a majestic moment. And then a voice sings the final line. It totally jars me away from the horns and destroys the emotion that was building. It's a simple fix. Give that line to a solo horn to transition into the next movement of the show. Those five notes coming from a horn instead of a voice, will change this moment immeasurably.
  3. Any rumors out there about a new ending? What I saw on Flowmarching sure looked like a placeholder to me.
  4. For Phantom Regiment, and one can skip ahead to about 22 minutes in to hear what the finale would sound like.
  5. For the Cavaliers, a show built on the music of Yes, and title it after this:
  6. So is there anyone out there who knows what "Everglow" is supposed to mean? What the show is supposed to be about? I can see in the announcement about awakenings, trials, heartbreaks, and such, but who are they talking about? Don't get me wrong, I already like the show a lot. But if I understood it better I bet I'd like it even more.
  7. To some degree, it might be because of difficulty to connect with the theme of a show. It's getting harder and harder on some of these to understand the theme. Blue Knights are a prime example. If you don't understand the ancient Egyptian mythology behind it, you won't get the show. Mandarins to some degree, Genesis, Phantom, and Colts as well. On the other end of the spectrum, Boston, Music City, Crown, Academy, and Blue Stars are all easily engaging. I like every show out of World Class this year, but I've studied them all and get them in a way a one time spectator who hasn't studied them won't be able to.
