  1. I have only seen videos of Cabs guard, however, Reading is much cleaner and more effective to the whole program. Thanks... My 2 cents...
  2. We use interior semi gloss and and it lasts just fine....
  3. skepic, your assumption is correct from what i've seen...
  4. we used paint from both home depot and lowes. make sure you spread it on thin and work it into the fibers. we never had problems, although this season our floor is a little more sticky than usual..
  5. Many of the drum line people follow their instructor. Most of them march in the same places. They also have music on paper to learn during the week. The guards do not have many rehearsals over the winter because most guard people are coming from different indoor guards, different techniques and do not have a way to learn the work correctly from a piece of paper or a video. The hornline and the drumline usually have how many rehearsals and start learning drill in the spring. The colorguard steps in in May and must learn the entire show that the corps already knows. So, unless we go back to the old school ways of presents, slams, carves, and whatever else, you are going to have a work in progress during the season. I personally do not even go to a show until the end of the season because i KNOW the shows won't be done. So, if your complaint is that you are a paying customer, then don't go to the show because u know it isn't going to be finished. I would rather see something clean than 10 minutes of pure mess and chaos on the field just to get it done for the first show.
  6. who misses rehearsal for weddings and graduations?
  7. i never said that the program or the members would be world class. If your arguement for them not being in world class is because of a low score, why bother to have any age limits on any of the classes? All the arguements you are making also go for A class groups also. Let's just get rid of all the rules...
  8. how would a guard get "bumped" because of having members over the age of 22? the guard would have chosen to take those members over the age of 22. which means they would have had to go to world if they wanted to take those members. i see nothing wrong with that. i personally do not see a reason to raise the age limit in open class. if a guard made the choice to take someone older than 22, and they don't belong in world class, then they should get the score to reflect that.
  9. DCI is not a taxable organization, but the state of ID is... I'm sure the state and local governments love the extra benefits from an extra million dollars or more in tax monies flowing in their accounts. ie: hotels, food venues, bars, gas, tolls....
  10. great beginner sabers!!! so much better than the elite sabers!
  11. i think u need to figure out what is most important to you and then go from there on deciding your corps. allentown is an hour north of reading. so reading would be closer. reading is probably going to be cheaper. less dues, less gas. but, if you are looking at possibly marching cadets and getting ur foot in the door and can afford that extra hour drive (which after a weekend is a big difference) go for cadets2...
  12. Here's the funny thing.. how many people come on here and complain about bucs always winning... well.. it's just one more contender to add in there to build dca and possibly change that and all everyone can do is b!*ch about it... as for all the comments about everything else.. if u feel so strongly about it, why are u on here complaining about it. go to someone who can do something... not an endless rant on a public forum. just my 2 pennies...
  13. that's gonna be tough. i noticed that pmw is selling sabres that look exactly like the old ultimates. they aren't expensive either. I don't know if they are the same quality as the old ultimates either. Those were the best sabres for beginners.. http://www.marchingworld.com/pg244b.htm
  14. There are several DCI Open class corps that compete in DCA... Jersey Surf and Raiders.. just to name two.... It's nothing new to have them at shows. They've been doing it for years... so.. i don't see this as a valid arguement....
