  8. One of my students just brought in a DVD of his solo and he lookied like he marched in corps by the way he played. Thank you!
  9. What corps or corps did he march with?
  10. I don't believe I did say anything bad. I know people in both corps and I know they will do an excellent job!!!
  11. Actually I think that the people who run Crusader shows have done it more than ES. I am hoping that both Rochester corps will be helping out in making this an extremely successful championship. I am hoping to be working with some corps this season and am looking forward to going back to my second home ...Rochester. Rochester isn't as bad as you think. I played in many places in various areas of the city and always felt safe. The downtown East End Fest they have once a month is great and fun! This will be a great year for DCA I am certain.
  12. Hey...I'm just trying to add something to this section of DCP. Besides, some of these corps we've never really chatted about. So let's here from people who may know.

  14. Unfortunately this fence is so far south...like the Great Wall or something.
  15. Royal Coachmen 1976 which came from Seneca Princemen 1974-75. Seneca Optimist were "Mellow Yellow." Anaheim Kingsmen, Hamburg Kingsmen (Sr from NY).
  16. Big Lou!!! You on the management team now? What's going on?
  17. I remember seeing Black Knights do an NFL halftime show. I was watching TV in the kitchen back in 73 or 74 and I got all excited because there was a drum corps, a top 12 corps doing an NFL halftime on TV.
  18. And also Tom, don't forget about the beautiful Crystal Beach. What an amusement park and the ballroom where you can dance to the sounds of Big Band. Take the Canadiana over from Buffalo...wha?....huh?....Oh that was how many years ago? Okay....Crystal Beach is now lakeside homes and condos. That's right. Can you say East End Fest in Rochester? Great time there. Yeah Rochester...Congrats!!!!
  19. Hey, my son marched this parade with Tomah HS...any pics? He's a good looking trumpet player...like me!!!
  20. Anything going on rehearsal-wise with Cru? I'll be up there to visit my son and parents. Actually will arrive Thursday evening....karaoke at the Dockside Inn. Friday, Sat and Sun with my son.
  21. Nothing saddens me more than to hear this news! A few years ago I saw the Troopers in Buffalo and liked what I saw and heard. It has been almost 20 years since Troopers were in the top 12. This once mighty corps that set the standard for a touring corps is now going inactive. Jim Jones has got to be shaking his fist in heaven with Gayle Royer shaking his head. I pray that the management works out all the problems and builds this corps back to a Division I, top 12 drum corps again. To lose the Troopers permanently would be like the Rapture....the end is near. I am sure that many of you might think that last statement somewhat dramatic but let's face the facts....the activity, although DCI is on ESPN, is falling further into the black hole. To see the Troopers at the bottom of Division I year after year with Kiwanis, Pioneer, etc is very sad. I am not putting down any drum corps it is just that for many of us who have been around this activity for a long time...the Troopers have always been in our own top 12. I encourage ALL young people who live near Wyoming to go to their camps and become a member when the Troopers start up next year and make the Casper, Wyoming Troopers America's Corps again!!!! Many of us have seen corps go away....Commodores, Bridgemen, Freelancers, Velvet Knights, Belleville Black Knights, Purple Lancers, Royal Crusaders, Seneca Optimists, Oakland Crusaders (Delasalle), 27th Lancers, Muchachos, Suncoast Sound, Guardsmen, Kilties (Jr), Anaheim Kingsmen, North Star, Des Plaines Vanguard, Argonne Rebels, Star of Indiana, SkyRyders, etc. Bring Back the TROOPERS!!!!! 2007
