  1. Hey, I am marching Onyx (for my third year!!!!! wow!) and our show this year is unlike any show we have ever done this year! We are doing a mixture of songs by Queen and our show is called "God Save the Queens" hehehe :P . I am sooo excited for this season. Good luck to every one marching this year, and I hope you all have WONDERFUL seasons. ( hey, its winterguard, how could you NOT?!?)
  2. this season, instead of flags, rifles, and sabres.... (7 words, sorry)
  3. Wow! I can't believe the topic I started before tour (when there were only like 10 guard people on DCP) is still up!!!! AWESOME! :D
  4. That is probably because the Open classes are so relatively small and the A classes so large. Good luck to anyone going up a class next year! P.S. Where did you read this?
  5. WooHoo! Hi Heather *starts singing...little munchkins join in and dance around while holding hands* "Its a world of something, A world of something else, Its a world of another thing, And a world of the final thing! Theres so much that we share, That its time, we're aware, Its a small world after all! Its a small world after all! Its a small world after all! Its a small world after all! Its a small world after all! :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D
  6. Hey!!!! Are you one of the girls we were talking to by a bathroom? I don't remember which show, I just remember it was by a bathromm......(So I'm strange....Ya gotta problem wit dat? :p ) My real name is Erica Edelman. It was me and Brianna and Shanna, I think that you were talking to. Am I right??? am I wrong??? P.S. I think the bathrooms were dark brown, maybe...
  7. Okay! We all know that you can't do guard all day without it spilling over into the Wonderful Land of ZZZZZ. The bad part about this, is waking up whenever you toss or catch. So......when you dream about guard, when do you wake up?
  8. Yay! Now that the winter season is over, I get to go to my first camp with Capital Regiment! WooHoo!
  9. Northern Lights (my all time fave guard) Pride of Cincy St Anns (Im not usually a big St Anns fan, but this year they really wowed me) Fantasia (of course) and of course the guard I march in (Onyx) Best Moment: proposal at the end of (I think) Alliance's show. Apparently, it was legit...Most the members didn't even know it was gonna happen...BTW, she said yes! How amazing is that!!!!
  10. Ewww! "YIKES!" is right, Lisa! Dirty dirty band boys! Bad band boys! (Try saying THAT three times fast!
  11. Hi I just wanted to know a little bit about every body's guard experiences. Where did you march/instruct? Significant moments? etc. Here's mine: I started in guard as a sophomore at a highly competitive band, Lakota West HS. (We didn't let freshman march.) I also marched in the Independant A winter guard "The Lakota." We won WGI my soph year so the next year we moved to Ind Open where we got 4th place. Then my director quit, so my senior year colorguard pretty much sucked. We didn't have a winter guard, so I went to Onyx, who had just moved into Ind World. We got 14th at finals that year. Halfway through the summer, my director emailed me telling me he was going to work with Marion Glory Cadets, and he needed some able bodies to work with, and if we came we could march for free. I had never heard much about drum corps and it sounded like an adventure, so in the last week of June, a bunch of us joined Glory Cadets on their tour. It was sooo emabarising, kcuz the first day we were there, we had a show. Whereas all the other corps had theirs finished, we performed about 30 secs, and then sat on the front sideline. .... ::^? But all ended well cuz we won Div III high colorguard. This year I am (hopefully) marching Capital Regiment, and it should be GREAT! Please tell me your stories! I'd like to know where the people I am foruming with are coming from!!!
  12. Hi all! I was just wondering what you guys called your fave equipment. In high school, my rifle was called Bruce which was short for "Bruiser" cuz he gave me lots of bruises. I'm hopefully gonna be a rifle again this summer (Been a flag for past 3 seasons) and I wanted a fresh start. I decided to name my rifle Cleopatra, or Cleo for short. (hence the screen name.) My reasoning is this: Cleopatra was a powerful yet beautiful ruler who had a nation at her feet. Now....what are YOUR fave pieces of equipment called? 8^) Ta-ta!~
  13. Oopsies! I didn't mean to say that everyday I practiced on concrete. I meant that I practised it everyday, AND on concrete. Most days I was on grass or dirt though. Does that make any sense? I don't know. I thought the other post made sense until I went back and read it. Oh, well. Sorry. (:-D P.S. Also the drummers who were tilting it were pretty trustworthy (As percussionists go!) hehe! :P
  14. The scariest thing I had to do was last year I had to climb a big rickety 12 foot ladder, and then the bass drummers tilted it while I posed. :( Yeowie! I may have been scared of heights back then, but after practicing that every day on concrete, Im not bothered by heights anymore! ;)
