  1. since the deck reopened, up there does. downstairs probably to the 20's, which, for modern drum corps, sitting past the 20's sucks
  2. I do and I don't, and I'll say why I don't. Not being a full time marketer of anything other tna helping a band circuit and my mortgage business, are you looking for paperwork> detailed accountings of what is going on? policy papers and follow up papers? I think you're onto an intriguing suggestion that if they read and think about, may be very cool for all of us. But, I'm not sure entirely what you mean and what kind of specifics is needed to be shown. I'd like to think that you have a suggestion they could do something with, but for those of us not in your line of work, we have no clue what you exactly mean.
  3. here's a question...since the death of DCM and DCE...how many of the corps that participated in both are still around today?
  4. I don't hate anyone, so you're safe. tho buying me a beverage can help
  5. we'll make room I'm sure. but 24 contras...well ####...this means i may need to find bass 7 and rewrite the drum parts LOL
  6. sweet, because i know of 20 members from that year that will be on stage
  7. well since we found the infamous 68 prelims scores, drop em a line
  8. i predict whoever scores highest win if i have a few later i can predict who won't be an option
  9. i think the lack of interest is higher, since DCI and the OC corps themselves can't market themselves out of a paper bag
  10. two things: I dont think the new toys led to losing 300+ corps. But it has made it harder for corps that don't get the sweet deals from manufacturers. however the national touring model....yeah it hurts. gas keeps going up, food keeps going up, housing costs keep going up. as with many other rules changes, perception is reality...you want to be good, you go out all summer with the big boys. that's expensive
  11. a question cowtown, given your experience: what proof would you like to see in terms of specifics? not questioning your experience at all, just curious
  12. oh their entrance in America. it hypes the bass drums up every year
  13. good God man, the stage is only so big, especially with a pit again this year
  14. well, i think they know that crowd posts here...that's why 'DCP isn't important"
  15. ok....so how is this DCP's fault Shadow? For the zillionth time, this is what DCA show sponsors asked DCA for. the corps that vote ( many of whom run shows) agreed. So, your issue being brought up here in the DCI forums has no bearing on this forum or this discussion. ( and DCI has a 30 member rule...you must really hate them too) your issue is between you, your corps ability to recruit and DCA. DCP has no bearing on this....and, if anything DCP IS important on this, as a few people did agree with you and spoke up about it. Imagine if there were no DCP...you couldn't constantly roll out your tired argument, fail to look at issues you and your corps could control, and you wouldn't have had the limited public support you've gotten.
  16. but...not really. regional pricing, for now, is not what finals is. $125 x 30,000 fans in Indy = $3,750,000 $50 x 20,000 fans in Atlanta and San Antonio + the 11 or so Allentown can hold = $2,550,000 since those 3 regionals pretty much get those numbers now, that's $6,300,000 ( minus operating expenses. now say Indy only gets 10kfans....that's a loss of $2.5 million. that's not a good trade off
  17. and it took DCI a few years to rebound from Orlando too.
  18. i'll be honest, the dvd's sounded better than the cd's from finals did. but oh man, those low end synth patches...holy feel the floor/car vibrate
  19. 18 last year. 2 risers down, i could feel the ground shake every time they went really low
  20. let's hope so. i know I walk into LOS with serious reservations
