Sun Devils are still around, although not with all the same people. Due to the beginnings of Solaris, there are now 2 corps. Kind of like when Alliance started with some folks from CV. The website issue is supposed to be rectified soon from what I heard. This could ultimately be better for Florida drum corps. More performance opportunities within the state of Florida for all corps and performance groups. Kind of like when we had Teal, Magic, Kiwannis, Heat Wave.... Their could be 2 or 3 performances in Florida a summer. Best of luck to all involved....

Saw the Bucs and Cabs in Wayne,NJ show back in July. I told my wife then that IF Bucs ever get a handle on that show, that they would win. Demand of simultanious responsibility on the performers was incredible. Question was would they be able to get it by finals. Answer is yes. If there was another week or 2 to go, watch out! I was also impressed by what Cabs were doing....breaking new ground for such a storied corps! All the body work in the show by the musicians also adds simultanious resposibility.... The theme was pretty obvious. The hornline cranked!!! Fusion Core also had a show with lots of body and a theme that was obvious....and a hornline that cranked! At Finals that night, I felt everyone performed incredible performances of their programs. The judges placed them where they did, as they saw it for everyone. No matter what, someone is going to disagree with the results. As a performer, once we get over the intensity of that night; and for some, the disappointment, we are filled with joy and love for our Drum Corps family that we fought all year with to be the best we could be. And for our extended family from the other corps who toiled as hard as we did. The true winning that we all get to experience is the family of drum corps.....Relationships that last a life time! I'm ready to start for next season already..... See y'all on the field or in the stands!

Wow Holly. Sounds like great things are happening! As usual, y'all will be outstanding. You don't know how to settle for less. Can't wait to see you this summer. Are you going to Sun Devils show end of June?

We'll play in the rain.... I remember a little show Jersey nicknamed the "Wet Dream"

With all the enhancements and adjustments to the show,and where we've been in past years at this show scoring mid 80's...I'd have to say we are pushing 90 with our best performance to date. Unless of course we have a bad show...which hasn't happened this year. Every performance has been better then the previous.

We are making adjustments to the ballad, and adding about 200 counts of visuals this coming weekend. The corps is working between camps, and some even came to the field on an OFF weekend to work on drill on their own. We have a motivated staff that will step on our necks if we take our foot off the gas before the season ends. I love drum corps! We will take care of our business, and let the rest fall into place by itself. Atlanta CV is becoming a family this year like I haven't seen in the past..... Peace and love to all our hard working competition. Hopefully the fans WIN!!!

B) Calling all MAGIC, KIWANIS KAVALIERS, TAMPA BAY THUNDER, BOSTON CRUSADERS, TEAL SOUND, ageouts in Florida. As well as any transplant Drum Corps Family that have moved to Florida, Georgia, and Alabama. Ex Heat Wave members,Vanguard, Florida Wave....... A brand new All-Age corps has been formed in Sarasota, Florida....The Sun Devils! Do you miss performing in front of thousands of fans...... Missing that sense of family that only drum corps people understand...... Those LONG bus rides........OK, maybe not that..... But being on the field PERFORMING!!! The Sun Devils are preparing to be a competetive DCA corps, and DCI exhibition corps. Our open house is Jan. 13th...1-5pm. Music will be handed out for the 2008 competitive show. We have instruments for 40 brass, 6 snares, 3 tenors, 5 bass as of now. Come be a Charter Member...(thats right, I said member), and put Florida back on the map for All-Age Corps. If you can't tour all summer due to jobs, costs of Jr corps, or just want to perform on weekends.... Come checkout Sun Devils. We are planning to be VERY competitive, through superior design and discipline... Preparing like champions everyday, to be the best we can be. Yes there are ex Heatwave members and BOD folks involved with Sun Devils. Why not? We are ALL a drum corps family. I am coordinating this task, and actually was a member of Heatwave in 02 and 03. However, Ive also marched and taught at Corps Vets since 2004, and Teal Sound from 03 to 06 administratively and staff. The Sun Devils are not Heatwave. However, Heatwave has loaned us equipment to get started. New uniforms, new horns(multi key),and everything else that it takes to field a corps are being worked on. It all means nothing if there are no members. From what I've read so far, it seems there are a lot of folks who want to march competitively here in Florida. Florida Brass is here for those who want the joy of performing without the hi demand of competition. Another new organization is on the verge of being a corps in Genesis. There is also Teal Sound for the touring folks under 22 years of age. The Sun Devils will work with ALL of these fine organizations to give the drum corps fans here in Florida, as well as other states, an entertaining and competitive product. Keith and JJ have been the mouthpiece on here for the corps. So I'll leave them to keep y'all informed as we grow. We at the Sun Devils look forward to presenting ourselves to the world in 08.
