  1. It looks like everyone has found this already, but just for completeness: here is the direct link to the Wayback Machine https://web.archive.org/web/20110724032114/http://www.dbcna.com/
  2. I have found it on the Internet Archive wayback machine here: https://web.archive.org/web/20110724032114/http://www.dbcna.com/ It seems to be intact and there are multiple versions available.
  3. This event is in Cambridge, Ontario, Canada ( Google Maps ) is it not? It's not clear from the website and this information would be useful for most of the people who will see your notice here. Cambridge is in southern Ontario near Kitchener and Brantford, Ontario and southwest of Toronto.
  4. It seems I have answered my own quest. Here is the original post I was referring to: http://www.drumcorpsplanet.com/forums/index.php/topic/84760-ica/page__pid__1532325#entry1532325 The latest version of the the 'Planet forms doesn't search content that was created before the upgrade very well. Speaking as a library professional I would guess that the old content hasn't been indexed. I had to find the old post by looking at what I had previously posted under this account. Sam
  5. www.dbcna.com is still down. Does anyone know what may have happened to this site? Unfortunately due to the way the site was configured it was not archived by The Internet Archive site (www.archive.org) Sam
  6. I am looking for some information on the inactive senior competitive circuit: International Corps Associates. It followed after the demise of the Red Carpet Association in 1978. Is there any record of the results of the championships available? There do not seem to be any entries for ICA shows in corpsreps.com You will find the article: http://drumcorpswiki.com/International_Corps_Associates on drumcorpswiki.com however the post the article is based on here on Drum Corps Planet no longer exists. Sam
  7. The Blue Stars have completely changed my perspective on drum corps!
  8. Does anyone know what has become of Harry Rains', website "Drum and Bugle Corps of North America" at http://www.dbcna.com? It seems to be down currently. It is a survey of all drum and bugle corps that exist and have existed in North America and is a great on-line resource. It would be a pity if it is no longer available.
  9. This is Les Eclipses. The uniform was all black on the back. They would turn around for warm-up and... there was an eclipse.
  10. I remember seeing corps french horns designed this way even back in 1980 and I never understood why it was necessary. I was always able to play bell-front like the rest of the horn(brass) line without the need of an angled lead pipe. There were a few players who tilted their heads back when they played but they didn't seem to be in the majority.
  11. No problem Mike. Thanks for classify and sorting, a librarian can identify with that.
  12. Here are my results. I will add the additional comments but reword them so as to keep people from being identified. (It was all clean. thanks guys!). A skipped question is distinct from replying "Would rather not say". Apologies for the formatting. If there is anything that is difficult to figure out, please post here and I will edit for clarity. In retrospect I left some choices out, such as "Judge" in question 3 and a few obvious choices for websites such as Field and Floor were left out of question 10. Thanks everyone for participating. It did help me complete my assignment. [edit: additional data and clarity]
  13. I know that people from all the forums here use dci.org but rather than SPAM them all with my link I will post here. If this isn't something that is acceptable at drumcorpsplanet.com I trust an admin will nuke this message for me. (Let me know if you do please so I can avoid making a similar mistake in the future.) As part of my course work for my Master of Library and Information Studies, and more particularly, my course in Information Architechure this summer, I am collecting some responses to the DCI web site. No prior experience required. It's not a big deal; I am in need of only a few responses for my purposes and the survey is short, so follow the link if you are so inclined... Informal dci.org survey I will post some aggregate results (assuming there are any) in this topic (assuming it's still here) when I am done. Thanks! Sam [edit for spelling]
  14. Actually it's 1984; the cummerbund is just shiny. There isn't any sparkly trim or sash. This is DVC field on Family Night (otherwise my father wouldn't be able to get so close for a picture). I'm pretty sure this is during "La Fiesta". I have some unscanned 84 BD (and other corps I think) pics but there are stored in a box somewheres. When I get some time, ( :P ) I will post 'em. Sam edit: for more info
