  1. Our director rec'd his copy (Alumni Show) yesterday...not good. The whites were washed, no sound during our show (really funny considering), bad color....he called & was told they fixed the issue & will be sending out new copies...first the wait, now this?? Oh well...he was so excited to pop it in!
  2. Gotta love the brunettes in the rifle line...LoL... You Tony! That IS Cheryl....Haha
  3. Thank you so much for those kind words...they just made my day actually!
  4. If that's an accurate account of how much it was to drink at Memorial Hall, and I'm sure it was, you'll NEVER catch me there partying! Way too much when you consider you can just hang at your hotel & dip into your own cooler! Reilly had a great time! Sorry, but like many of the performers, I didn't get a chance to see any other corps perform. Kinda stinks but it is what it is I guess. Got a chance to socialize with my Bridgemen buds before the parade kicked off which was great, but never enough time... Saw Fran Haring at the East Grill in downtown Plymouth & THAT place has really superb offerings as well as great service! Lobster Bisque!!!!...PLUS a pretty good band that night!!! Several of us flew to Boston for a change instead of doing the bus thing with the corps & it went smoothly...thought maybe we could check out "Cheers" or something but was advised (plane landed at 230 that Friday) to get to the rental car & get out of town because traffic could be bad....good advice btw! Was extremely happy with our show & look forward to the Dixie Stinger! Take care everyone!
  5. Oh absolutely man...you made some good points. Gonna jump off of this roller coaster for a bit...all the best Jeff...
  6. Could be Jeff...LoL...constructive criticism hurts sometimes, but is good if ya relax, take a deep breath & know people aren't out to hurt ya intentionally...how ya been bro?
  7. I had a great, rewarding time while I marched in the post competitive Bridgemen! Many, MANY great moments...on the field & off. That said, in reference to what this topic is supposed to be about, NOT BRIDGEMEN BASHING, but I'd have to say that the Bridgemen would have to up their game if they were gonna do semi-finals. If they were to do semi-finals I'm certain they would throw in the kitchen sink, get alot of people back & be successful. This topic has come up several times since I first marched Bridgemen in 2006 & I'd be willing to bet that if in fact they were invited to do the gig, accepted, that they would get a big corps going...the world may never know either way. Madison 2006, 27th in 1994...there are your 2 huge benchmarks. Unreal. People will always be talking about the heart and soul that went into those 2 performances by those wonderful groups...I think the Bridgemen, or any alumni corps, would need a good amount of time to get their numbers up, recruit like hell & polish their show. I am heavily involved with the Reilly Raiders, as their Program Coordinator, trying to grow the business, keep our great name alive, while having fun...but, I told my people 2 years ago that if Bridgemen were to do semis that I'd be in. This has been my "Jordan Rule" so to speak... As for the bashing...if you bash the Bridgemen I feel like your bashing all alumni corps...like we're delussional for wanting to keep being active & contributing to a great activity. I've competed, both with Crossmen & Sunrisers...I feel like I don't need to compete PLUS wouldn't want to do it shotty due to working/family etc etc. DCA is a young man's game now. I'd have to, and should anyway, get into serious shape to be able to get thru legitimate rehearsal blocks in a competitive corps! LOL...just keeping it real. I'm not alone. The alumni acitivity is filled with adults of all ages that want to practice once or twice per month, forget about the bills & troubles we all have on a daily basis, and put the horn to the chops...for the love of the game baby! OK..let me wrap it up. Just felt like Bridgemen were getting a raw deal with some of these comments & wanted my 2 little pennies heard... Take care everyone & Happy Holidays!
  8. Terrific Night!!!! Thanks to ALL of the groups that came out to perform!!!! Thank you Tony for posting the audio & pics!!!! On to Rochester...
  9. Tomorrow!!!!!! SO excited!!!!!! Randy, Spilde & DA Plumma are in town...enough said! C'mon out for a terrific night of drum corps!

  11. Great Stuff Jeff...ya know, I have 85-88 all on video & I'm thinking I'll pop them in tonight or tomorrow! Also have 79 Prelims on high camera & it's worth a viewing as well... It's a shame that DCI hasn't figured out a way to make the non-finalist performances available! If I didn't get the Crossmen "Through The Years" double video set BITD, I'd be SOL if I wanted to see those shows again that didn't make Finals...
  12. Great thread! I love Crossmen so I'm gonna have a little fun with this... 1977 The First year playing Russian, the BIG X that took up the entire field and ofcourse making Finals for the first time...unforgettable & the show that started it all. 1978 Came in 6th in prelims & definitely "Something" was a great, GREAT chart...little shout out to Brian Law on his solo work...Crossmen, in only their 4th season, turning alot of heads at this point...dropped to 9th at Finals but lets not go there...haha 1979...didn't make Finals but hornline came in 5th at Prelims..."Can you read my mind" was so emotional...great moment... 1980 Pictures of Spain...wow! 1981 Rocky 1982 Canto del Viento...another shout out to Harry S & George Headley... 1984 Let Me Try Again...forget about it, another favorite moment... 1989 The Scrim & making Finals again!!!! Crossmen were back baby!! 1990-1994...Magical & EASILY the best my corps has ever been...I hope this changes someday. 1997 What else can I say that you all haven't already said? But, my favorite year from Crossmen, and I'll exclude the years I marched, would have to be 1991. Thanks Mr. Krempasky...total show, great ballad, emotional, crowd pleaser, great solos that still run through my brain daily, etc etc... Go 2011 Crossmen!
