kevingamin
Tempo really kicked up now as we move to the finish. There's our screaming sopranos taking the last note up and BAM! We're done!

kevingamin
Next on the field is the Lakeshoremen from Troy, Michigan. Their 2009 program is entitled “Days of Future Passed – The Moody Blues” and consists of: Dawn Is A Feeling Another Morning Peak Hour Tuesday Afternoon Nights In White Satin

kevingamin
If the show looks familiar, it's the exact same show as Glassmen from 1994, a year I marched.
kevingamin
Mellophones are pushing some air during Dawn is a Feeling. Weird, though, to hear the show without battery. Unfortunately, the corps didn't have enough drummers to put on the field and ended up putting everybody in the pit. I don't get the guard uniforms at all. I'll see about getting a picture up so you can see what I mean. Nice saber solo toss! Hornline does sound pretty good, light years ahead of last year. kevingamin
The lack of percussion really takes away from the impact.
kevingamin
I have to admit I have a hard time commenting on this show since I marched it 15 years ago. There's a lot of promise in what I'm hearing from the horns, though, and I can see the corps moving up if they continue to build on what they've started with this year. One change from the '94 Glassmen - With no drums, there's no drum solo, so the corps plays more of the original Peak Hour music and sounds pretty good doing it. kevingamin
Tuesday Afternoon. At least the baritone soloist isn't getting blown away by the soprano soloist like in '94. Contras can really play. Great low notes at the end of Tuesday.
