ajlisko
I assume he sold Auld Lang Syne or Choo Choo many times over?Of course the interesting thing about Black Saddle is that as an obscure TV show theme from the 1959 season I think - I don't believe it had ever been published in any way prior to Brad Longdo's lifting the melody directly off the TV at the bar of the PLAV in Syracuse... the rest is history... Not to be revisionist, but Longdo did Black Saddle for the Schylerville Green Sabres in like '61 or '62. I know but it was a staple with them before I got there in '64. Storkysr
I believe Ed Cozzolino wrote the "Black Saddle" arangement for the Albion Grenadiers in '61 or '62.

Brad gave it to Schylerville after Brigs folded at the end of the 1961 season (they did not compete in 1962 and Brad was gone from Brigs... doing Fulton Gauchos - with me - and Schylerville Green Sabers who he always referred to as his home corps)... the 1963 reincarnation of Brigadiers brought in Corky as Arranger and he rejuvenated Saddle and made it the "mainstay" it became... so how is this revisionist Eddie? You lost me... Edited September 24, 2010 by TomPeashey
