Are you a parent or guardian of one of our potential members and want to get more involved with your child’s experience? Or are you simply a drum corps fan who wants to be a part of Imperial Sound but is a just a little over the age limit?Imperial Sound has a place for you, regardless of age or experience!

A drum corps cannot function without the heartfelt support of its volunteers. It takes a lot of work to make sure every member of a drum corps gets the best experience possible, and that’s why we need any help we can get. It doesn’t matter what skills you have or don’t have, we need your help! The following volunteer positions are needed the most, though there is no wrong way to help a drum corps:

Touring Positions:

Driving – Drum corps travel far and wide to perform for the most enthusiastic audiences in the country. We need licensed drivers to transport equipment and members to and from performance, rehearsal, and housing sites. A CDL is required to drive any trucks or buses.

Kitchen – A drum corps rehearsal is as tough as any sport, and nutrition is a must for our members. We need anyone with any kind of food preparation skills to keep the corps hydrated and fed during long rehearsals, with at least three meals a day and a constant supply of water.

Uniform Care – Anything can happen to a corps uniform, from tearing to simply not fitting properly. We need anyone with sewing or tailoring skills to keep uniforms fitting and looking brand new at all times.

Medical – Just like in any sport, drum corps can be tough on the body. We need anyone with medical experience to ensure the physical well being of members and staff at all times.

Repairs – Our equipment and vehicles need to be in the best shape possible, so we need a handyman available to fix anything as it breaks and make modifications if necessary. Construction skills are a plus, since our field shows may require props that need to be built from scratch.

Non-Touring Positions:

Fundraising – Money is just as important in running a drum corps as volunteers like you. It takes a lot of funds to successfully run a corps. Without money we can’t get instruments, go on tour, or even feed our members! We need a team of fundraising personnel to come up with creative and effective ideas to raise as much money as possible to keep the corps running.

Recruitment – It goes without saying that a drum corps cannot be successful without….. well, a drum corps. Recruitment personnel will go to events where potential members may be (such as marching band shows) and simply tell interested individuals about the corps and how they can participate or march with us.

If you are interested in joining our “Imperial Volunteers,” please send an e-mail to volunteers@theimperialsound.info, and we’ll assign you to a position right away. For any other questions or to donate, please contact Director Robert Azzarano at director@theimperialsound.info or visit our website. Thank you for your support!

After a successful November Camp, the corps is now riding high in confidence with strong support among the local community, strong support at completing our KickStarter financial goals, and putting together a wonderful experience for a group of kids in just a week after locating another facility in the boro. Despite all the disadvantages we've had so far, we've met every obstacle with optimism.

Don't miss out on the experience of building a drum corps, by waiting out the winter and summer to see our first year. If you live in the PA/NJ/DE/MD area, and love drum & bugle corps, we've got a spot for you.
