JonW
WOOT! The Oostburg Barnstormers snag their first victory ever! It wasn't a home show but, there were plenty of fans travelling the short distance to help spark this rockin' Christmas Eve bash! Another good note, the Privateers Ghost Ship did appear this time. Now to find out how things went in Chicago.
scsudrummer
The theme of Red Storm's rehearsal and performance yesterday was, "If it ain't broke, don't fix it." The corps staff, looking to give the corps an even more competitive edge, tinkered with a few General Effect ideas, and tried to implement them in the show, but to no avail, as the corps finished in a disappointing 6th place finish in Chicago. Needless to say, these changes have been thrown out, and the corps presses onwards, looking to get back to it's winning ways as they are now enroute to their rehearsal/housing site (TBA) in Muncie, Indiana! Galen
As snow removal continues across the US, 2 cities get ready to host DCPI events. In snowy NY, Syracuse shakes the rust off its belt as Liverpool HS stands ready for the corps to perform: Out west, Redding CA's Shasta HS hosts the last Pacific event before corps embark into the Pacific NW:
CloudHype
Huntsville AL's Crewes Stadium hosts Enigma's homeshow down in the deep south. Between the deep bowl and the roughly two miles of distance between the field and the sidelines, it'll be a christmas miracle if anybody in the stands can even hear a note the corps are playing at this venue. Having been the ONLY person here to actually be inside that stadium (Unless you marched at this stadium in 1997 when it hosted an early season show that was well received). The bowl is behind the stands ( works out from the sides of the bleachers) and the distance might be less from the front sideline then the Hoover, Al contest that has been an "actual real life" show for a few seasons, the distance is no more than that of a track. About the same distance as sideline to stands as Floyd Stadium at MTSU, the host of the DCI Masters event. With the changes of previous days taken back out of the show, the corps continued to push forwards in the standings, jumping back into the top 12 with a spirited performance! The corps spent a long day practicing today in their housing site in Muncie, and are now on the road to Fairfield, Ohio, for their next show tomorrow night!
