stldrmn1
The “All Age” drum corps activity seems to be in very good health, despite what the boo birds would have you believe. According to this forum - DCA is growing, (“Open”, “A” and “Mini Corp”) nation wide. SDCA is expanding. Alumni corps are doing very well. Parade corps are healthy and new ones are forming. And independent Drum Corps Clubs are getting together to play through scores and keep chops in shape. I’d like to see a “roll call” of all organized, and not so organized, all age drum a bugle groups and locales. Alliance – Open Class Buccaneers – Open Class Bushwackers – Open Class Caballeros – Open Class CorspVets – Open Class Empire Statesmen – Open Class Hurricanes – Open Class Kilties – Open Class Minnesota Brass – Open Class Renegades – Open Class Class A - based on last year or info this year...who knows, maybe some of these corps will make the jump? Arkansas Thunder - Class A Carolina Gold -Class A Chops, Inc. - Class A Cincinnati Tradition - Class A Excelsior - Class A Fusion Core - Class A Govenaires - Class A Grenadiers - Class A Gulf Coast Sound - Class A High Country Brass - Class A Shenandoah Sound - Class A SoCal Dream - Class A Sun Devils - Class A Vigilantes - Class A White Sabres - Class A Windsor Regiment - Class A Did not compete at Rochester last year, but we're all glad to see them active.... Brigadiers Frontier Music City Legend 6th Street Regiment Skyliners Sunrisers Tampa Bay Thunder Alumni? Small Drum Corps Association Parade Corps Other????? davidp
I would say add the Chattahoochee Vanguard Mini-Corps, but I'm sure neither DCA, MCA, nor SDCA will let me count my 15 imaginary friends. Seriously, I only need a couple of trumpets, a baritone, tuba, and a drummer to get started (I play horn). If you're in North/West Georgia, or even East AL or South TN, and you too think that "less is more," give me a holler (PM, that is).

JimF-LowBari
Word has it there's an Alumni Corps in Hawthorne New Jersey, in addition to the competitive Open Class field corps. What do they look like? Ton o' Parade/Alumni type groups out there.... Main shows in the Northeast are Serenade in Brass at Harrisburg, PA (last one this year), Dixie Stinger in MD (still going on but Yankee-rebels are gone ) , Shamrock Fest(?) in Willow Grove (Reilly Raiders show), Plymouth, MA show in November (totally forget the name ) and others I'm not aware of. Off the top of my head for Parade/Alumnis that do not appear at DCA but have been at these shows... Archer-Epler Musketeers Reading Buccaneers Hanover Lancers Blessed Sacrament (been a while since DCA appearance) St Kevins Emerald Knights Reilly Raiders I know there are others but losing track...... Edit: Oh yeah... think Emmaus Sentinels might still be around with Erie Thunderbirds (both PA)...
