Boom-Boom
In the early 70's I was told that the Dunkirk Patriots were moved up in DCA after they came in 14th and made the top 12or 13 due to a corps folding ahead of the Patriots. Does anyone know if this is true?
Jeff Ream
do you mean as a voting member or listed as a member due to scores? I can't imagine they would erase scores because someone folded, but maybe they were brought in as a voting member or associate member. Would have had to have been in the top 12 I'd imagine
JimF-LowBari
According to corpsreps, Dunkirk came in 14th in 1975 and 1976 and 16th in 1977. That's the only years they're listed as going to DCA. After 1976 DCA Rochester Phoenix folded and 1977 the Baltimore corps (regular season Yankee Rebels, for DCA Southwind) folded but that's all I can see. IIRC 1975-??? the 11th to 14th place corps were Associate members but no idea what the rules were if someone ahead of you folded. Edit: DUH!! (just remembered) In 1976 we came in 11th and Phoenix folded. We did not become a full member of DCA for 1977 season.
