The clip of the opener is insane. Luckily they'll be standing still. Wait, what? There's drill to accompany that?!?

Would love to see a Crown brass band "trilogy" ala Cadets 97-99 (though 99 wasn't brass band stuff, it had a similar feel to it). So much great brass band stuff out there, and you don't have to manufacture difficulty.

Funny you mention that. At the CrownCLUB weekend someone ask Mr. Klesch why have we not seen more of this music and would we see some more to follow. To paraphrase his comments as....he came across Bertrand Moren some years ago and felt it was really different than most as the others were not good enough to translate into a DC show as they had little substance and too much flash.

I guess time will tell?

Yeah, I think they're on the same level of difficulty, but in different ways. There are some moments of exposure for the entire brass line in 2010 that I'm not sure have ever been attempted/will ever be attempted again.

Yeah, 2010 had some incredibly difficult moments. Their attempt to sync some rubato sections across literally the entire field was very risky, and the phasing was still there at the end of the season. I think it cost them the Ott and third place. That said, I love to see them trying stuff like this that very few other corps are willing to risk. No matter how it turns out, 2012's show was IS definitely worth reaching for. Go Crown!

Edit: ha, thanks for catching my error, Kevin.

After listening online, all I can say is this might be a once in a generation horn book, so capture the moment and own it members of the corps. From rookies to ageouts, consider this as if it were your ageout year because this may not be attempted nor duplicated for sometime. I'm seriously praying for you all to pull this off! I'be been waiting soooo long for this since Star left us.

Best comment I've read in a while. You sir are absolutely right. Horn books like this are so rare. If this brass line ends up cleaning, and therefore pulling it off, we have ourselves a champion that will be remembered decades from now. Crown '12 will go down in the books with the likes of Star of Indianna '91 and '93 as well as the Cadets in '83, '84, and '85 (to name a few).
