TheSunArts Org Update: The Heat is On!

Recommended Posts

ORLANDO, FL- With Season 18 on the horizon, the SunArts Org has sought to make a few changes. First of all we are very pleased to announce a new partnership with Conn-Selmer, who will be supplying all three SunArts units with King System Blue Marching Brass Intruments. We will continue to utilize Pearl marching percussion as well as Adams concert percussion.

We would also like to announce the return of The Central Florida Showcase Presented by Conn-Selmer in Winter Park, FL. This season's event will take place on July 11th and consist of 2 parts. It will kick off in the morning with Concert in the Park where each corps will perform a standstill concert on the stage in beuatiful and historic downtown Winter Park. From there, the corps will make the short trip over to Larry Gergley Stadium at Showalter Field for the competition portion. The night will end with a meal for all corps provided by 4 Rivers Smokehouse.

And now, to what is probably our most exciting bit of news. 2 seasons ago, Los Tiburones entered the field in Class A competition for the first time to fill the void left by the Challengers. They have had a great run so far creating a niche for themselves with exciting jazz programs. For the most part, SunArts has been based in Central Florida since it's inception and we have now decided to expand our operation outside the region. Los Tiburones will be leaving Maitland to become the first SunArts corps based outside the state of Florida. They will now call Valdosta, Georgia their new home. With their new home comes a new identity and the corps will step off this season under the name of Georgia Heat! We approach the new season with great anticipation for them as well as the Hurricanes and Avengers. Stay tuned for the announcement of all 3 corps season 18 Programs!
