JamMan
I'm overweight, too. (Well, 28 pounds less over-weight since I started a low-carb diet and seeing a specialist in January.) Anyhow, getting my panties wadded up would be something I'd pay good money for. (Okay, I'm not exactly sure what that means, but I'm beginning to scare myself. I know, I know...I've been scaring many of you for years.) I like you, Mr. Boo. You're alright.

stevedci
two things to consider.... 1. The essence of the drum corps experience for the members/performers 2. Rule of
GUARDLING
ive taught a HS band with 500 musicians and 80 to 125 in the guard at times...................its nuts.............lol Edited July 2, 2012 by GUARDLING
MikeD
Allen High School in Allen, TX marches about 700 kids on the field. It's not the cleanest thing in the world, but there's certainly not people tripping all over each other. My picture of them belongs in this thread! The people in the visitor stands are actually band members; the visual designer ran out of room! Edited July 2, 2012 by MikeD

Or did the visual designer's software refuse to take that many "dots"? :-)
MikeN
Honestly, it would only affect the current handful of corps that are actually marching 150. My hunch is you'd see maybe 3-5 corps take advantage of it. Mike

Cleveland1
Corps would figure it out, how to win with huge corps that is. They would essentially be taking members from other corps. The gap between the best corps and everyone else would become massive. Corps like the cascades, teal sound, would probably have to fold. Sure it would be hard to clean, but a 350 member BD will be better than a blue stars corps with 150. Also regional corps would fight for even more members in small markets. With 3 corps in wisconsin, would blue stars fold if their best members went to madison? Phantom v cavies in illinois. BD and SCV. I don't see expanding size helping anything. The size is fine as is.
