Popular Post shostahoosier
Obviously the financials are what's necessary for a corps to survive. I also feel for the world class/open class corps that are less successful than the top 15. Most folks that attend the shows aren't seated in the venue until the 'top corps' are scheduled to play. There is a smaller fan base and there is a sense of feeling unnoticed. Granted those are my observations, not my son's (he marches Academy) but I can see where feeling defeated (when hardly anyone is in the stands) could snowball. I totally agree! So many people on DCP complain about DCI not giving much support for the small corps...but how many reviews do we read that start off with something like "sorry, had to park my car and get a hot dog so I missed the small corps" or "sorry, I really wanted to watch the drumline warm up in the lot so I didn't get to see the first few performing units".
TerriTroop
I am so sorry to hear this! Having been through this exact thing myself in 1984, I know how hard it is on the members.

koburd
I was offered a spot on the hornline to fill a spot. I didn't take it because it was too late in the season and too late to get everything prepared. Now I'm kind of glad I didn't take that spot. Real sorry for the guys out there in Forte this summer. I'm sure it must really suck. Good luck to you all!
