I imagine designers always want to have a show that in some ways can top their last years shows so they are always improving. Sometimes this is hard... but what do you think about the level of Show Design from this year to last year?

Define "Better" through the lens of "Entertainment, Engagement, Innovation, and Talent" Do not simply use the standard of their SCORES improving or not.

If it's "THE SAME" then these categories generally match those standards set by last years.

KEEP IN MIND: Some corps have set very high standards last year and to what degree have they maintained or improved on that standard?

BTW The 2012 DCI WORLD CLASS Repertoire thread is NOT as colorful or visually impactful as the 2011 DCI WORLD CLASS Repertoire Page...

Shame on FaustianMachine for dropping the Ball! :w00t:

Interesting to me is that for most corps, I did not find this year's shows to be better than last year. But that would be like me saying a date with one international supermodel who's into fat dudes wouldn't be better than a date with another international supermodel who's into fat dudes.

I didn't do the "worse" option to make it positive but you can tell which ones ppl definetly don't think are better... (cavies and cadets)

This is a strong year for drum corps. I would not want to have to decide the winner or 13th place corps.

Don't worry, it's already been decided, according to many on here. Blue Devils will win and Crossmen will place 13th. These people must be able to see into the future or something...

As far as the poll, I chose seven corps who had "same" or "better" shows, but I believe that 2012 was a better year. I just enjoyed the shows more last year, in general, than I do this year. I guess I was one of the few to say that Cadets' show is better this year than last year's. I really, really didn't like the music (or lack of) last year very much. Don't get me wrong, it was alright, but it just didn't grab me. It was all about visual last year. This year, they have VERY crowd-friendly music together with a great (though dirtier than last year) drill. Cue the scrooges to come in with their "bah-humbugs"...

Last year Crown's show was pure Cheeze food product now it's incredible.

Last year Cadets show was incredible now it's Cheese.

Last year BD's show was Cheesy pop this year it's Incredible.

SCV & Phantom? pfft they always play the best music!
