DrumManTx
No, EST, that means it's was about 20 minutes ago I'm in Texas and it's 9:47, and on the DCI site it says that times are central, and awards are at 10:24. http://www.dci.org/news/view.cfm?news_id=c5979ed2-108c-4adb-819a-d21a905a84f8 Edited August 8, 2012 by DrumManTx
Stu
The pit is a whole section and needs to be judged by people who know mallet instruments not a snare drummer! Apparently you are not aware, at all, of the music credentials of the percussion judges.

I could have sworn indiana was in the Eastern Zone? All I care about is why no one is there reporting or updating? Does anyone care about Open Class? DrumManTx
As far as having a separate pit judge, not a bad idea IMO, it would keep a drum judge with the drum line and the pit could be watched ALL the time. The least interesting and easiest stuff in the pit can be where the most technique errors are just because they require less thought, and the list could go on. But, DCI would have to pay more judges per contest I suppose. (If that's how it works) Edited August 8, 2012 by DrumManTx

Stu
Corporations are people my friend. No they are not; Sole Proprietorships are people (ss # is the business tax number); Corporations are entities (EIN tax identification) which are ran by people. Corporations are created, in part, to insulate the people running the business from losing their personal belongings in case of business failure. Stu
Because two gets the job done, where one doesn't. The field judge continues to judge everything he does now, which is individuals and small groups. The box judge actually listens to the whole LINE and judges the brass ENSEMBLE. Right now, we don't have that...at all. We have a music ensemble judge, but he's got different responsibilities. You missed the two points I was emphasizing: 1) Percussion is not "special"; those involved in Brass, Guard, and Visual would could justify their beliefs in splitting up into sub-caption judging in the same manner; and 2) The increase in cost is not worth the extra judges.
