That August Bridgeport show was not until the weekend before Labor Day weekend.... unless there was another Bridgeport show that month that I didn't know about.

I remember seeing Westshoremen as their buses pulled into the parking lot at Kennedy Stadium... they had been in New Orleans, what, the weekend before for the American Legion championship (which they won)... and man, they looked really tired when they got to Bridgeport. LOL.

Think you got that Aug. 26th from Sky's scores on CR's. Westshore only has DCA's prelims and finals listed on CR's for all of 78.

Not only that, but CR's has that August 26th. date listed as The Barnum. That's odd. Unless the July weekend was a rainout and the game was made up at a later date, ala MLB.

Nope no rainout in 78 for the Barnum ... not sure though if they were somehow a sponsor with the Bright Lights charity ... my DCN's are buried in the basement ... I'll have to navigate around a bit to check what they say ...

That August 26 show definitely was not the Barnum Festival.

I think it was called the "Bright Lights" show or something like that. It was held in Bridgeport on that last weekend before championships for several years.

Our (Sunrisers') performance at that show in 1978 gets my vote for the best performance in the history of that corps. We were absolutely, completely dialed in that night, in all captions.
