Thank you for being THAT corps! THAT corps that I tell my friends about when they say "What's a drum corps?" Percussion is SOOoooo sweet... colorguard hit every emotional milepost... the brass was gorgeous... and the show... (VAN - guard on the other side of the field!) I am a fan of Les Miserables on the stage. The movie? Not so much. I had my doubts. I had my fears. And... When the entire corps stood behind the backdrops... and the guard took over the field alone... I had to wipe away the tears... emotional at the beauty and expression I was witnessing. You were THAT corps that I remembered the Vanguard always being from the very best years. I know you may not be where you want to be yet competitively... but you became my favorite corps of the year in San Antonio. Pure joy! Thank you for being THAT corps again! (except for the movie part - ) I love the show concept, the drill, the arranging, the lush brass, the smokin' hot drums, the guard. Everything. The flags are like fireworks from behind the panels in back, and it's a blast to watch. I can't wait to see it again on the big screen during quarters and on Fan Network often between now and then. After I saw it for the first time at TOC in Dekalb, IL, the first thought that came to my mind was how much of a throwback show it is - people know the music, and arrangements done in such a way where they still know the music :) This is not in any way a knock on any other corps - just a comment that it is great seeing a show again that is easy to relate to (and performed very well). 1 Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
