Arena Corps Guy
As we have felt the pulse of drum corps in the Midwest SDCA has decided to now encourage a “Concert” type of drum corps. These corps will use music stands for all of their SDCA performances and they will do parades on a flatbed truck. The drum line will consist of one set drummer and there will be no color guard. We think this will be a more relaxed involvement for its members. No memorization of music or drills. Cost of operation will be minimal as only one instructor will be needed; music only. In every community there are many flat beds to use. They are free as the owners gets to advertise their company as they drive in the parade. We are now looking to you for your interest in starting up a “Concert” corps. SDCA can assist in all of your organizational needs. The South Jersey Vagabonds have been doing this sort of thing for YEARS also !!! The Corps is based on the Pennsauken and Haddon Heights Vagabonds. Now meet in Magnolia, NJ. Anyone is allowed to join. and they OWN their own float for parades. Handicapped welcome space for wheel chairs and scooters and all.
