gsksun4
No recollection here......and at that juncture on that day, after having come in 2nd again, I was only seeing RED! Fish, don't feel bad. You guys owned the Dream in the Late 60's.
ajlisko
Maybe Glen Johnson will chime in with some notes from H. Worth Ake's Dream files ... he had a ton of information in them ... :-)

No argument there, monster season for Big Red. We'll leave it at that.
Northern Thunder
It may be possible that this is a marching band. Or could it be a competitive color guard? (We can't see any "corps proper" in the photo, just the guard.) If it is a corps, there is a striking resemblance to the Wayne Monarchs. Their hometown was 25 miles from Jersey City, and they were a Garden State Circuit corps. Compare the Dream photo with this '72 photo of the Monarchs: http://dchistoricalsociety.ning.com/photo/2173536:Photo:201 Still doesn't explain the confederate flag, though. Although the "War" portion of their musical repertoire may provide a clue. Edited March 28, 2014 by Northern Thunder

White sash matches also. Hmmmm....
KeithHall
It's the Monarchs!

Also, the Dream photo looks like shoulder cords, compared with the embroidered design on the other one.
ajlisko
Not sure it's the Monarchs, Brian ... rifles wearing tams and flags have different shakos from the all-black "Ballentine" style they wore ... it could very well be just a guard that Mickey brought in, which was not unusual ... :-)

Like 1964 with the BPAL Thunderbirds. But, that makes me more curious about that Rebel flag. How that fits into a guard routine. Maybe they were from the Mason Dixon line area.
