mingusmonk
I've put it on here before, but Nils Frahm is a genius. What he does on pianos is incredibly percussive, and there are a lot of different directions corps could take with his madness. Toilet Brushes Hammers Careful what you wish for Lance. Nils has done his fair share of minimilism. :D
DawsonBurnes
The Academy 2014. :) Thanks a ton! Sounds awesome! (No trombone though ): )
Cadevilina Crown
More concerti and sonatas for solo instruments and accompaniment, please. (As in "Concerto for Instrument X and Orchestra" or "Sonata for Instrument X and Piano" and the like) Criminally underplayed in DCI.

(As in "Concerto for Instrument X and Orchestra" or "Sonata for Instrument X and Piano" and the like) Criminally underplayed in DCI. I suggest Avner Dorman's piano concerto. The first movement has some energetic passages. Second movement is gorgeous and methinks reminiscent of the slow movement of Ravel's piano concerto. He seems really cool. And yeah, after seeing SCV's and Bluecoats' takes on Dorman, I want to hear more of his music played.
Lance
Careful what you wish for Lance. Nils has done his fair share of minimilism. :D I'm far from anti-minimalism. Just not a fan of it for 10 of 13 minutes in a dci show. I'd still love to hear a corps do Bowie's Low combined with Glass's Low Symphony. dciboy2000
Some great ideas in here. I have been listening to a lot of movie scores lately and I came across a lovely gem from Disney's Dinosaur (2000). It's been since The 2000 Cadets that Disney has been featured on the DCI field. I've put together an entire show with the Dinosaur score by James Newton Howard.Check out the links (I have them starting at certain points).Enjoy and envision this in competition!Opener - The Egg Travels https://youtu.be/B9ubdk1tuI0?t=43sSecond selection - The End of Our Island https://youtu.be/bA6mRTgK9O4?t=1mThird selection (ballad) - Break Out https://youtu.be/grueRSW_0Mg?t=38sFourth selection (closer) - Epilogue https://youtu.be/5xDoczoEXQI?t=56s Edited August 29, 2016 by dciboy2000

The band I teach did a show of his music from "Atlantis" back around 2002.
Fran Haring
I am still waiting for an all-Jimi Hendrix show. I think "Hey Joe" would make a great "OK... I want to slit my wrists now" ballad.
jthomas666
The Velvet Knights should reform and perform a Schwarzenneger meets Shakespeare show entitled Hasta La Verdi.
