Govenaires 2015 Show Announcement

Recommended Posts

“Now remember, when things look bad and it looks like you're not gonna make it, then you gotta get mean. I mean plumb, mad-dog mean. 'Cause if you lose your head and you give up then you neither live nor win. That's just the way it is.” – From The Outlaw Josey Wales

Even though they originally derive from a specific era in U.S. history, Westerns can transcend time and culture. The genre continues to capture the imaginations of countless people.

Throughout many creative works, images of open frontier and rapid expansion aim to draw people into a world of grandeur and optimism.

There’s also a dangerous element to the west, best represented by the gunslingers, thieves, and other unsavory characters that would sooner see you dead than rich.

For the Govenaires’ 88th season, they will dive into the wild side of the west with their 2015 show, Outlaw.

Whether it’s the tense anticipation of a robbery, the explosive surprise of an enemy ambush, or the cold dread of facing a skilled fighter in a showdown, the show’s vignettes will take the audience on an unforgettable ride into the sunset.

"Well, if there aint' going to be any rules, let's get the fight started." – From Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid
