Quad Aces
Apparently rights companies tend to be less cooperative when you've already announced that you intend to play the piece. Not sure why, but that's what I've been told for a number of years. Just curious - do you know this to be true firsthand from experience, or is this what you have heard to generally be true? N.E. Brigand
Just curious - do you know this to be true firsthand from experience, or is this what you have heard to generally be true? I rarely have had to secure music rights, but I have much firsthand knowledge of this for securing the rights to plays. Those agreements often include a clause instructing the theater that it may not publicize the production until the agreement has been signed by both parties and a deposit has been paid.
kickhaltsforlife
Interesting that D. Yozviak used La Mer as the show for West Chester University 2015 show, and now Spirit is doing it.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gK0SLB48nZ8 Did you mean Surf? And it makes sense since he is Surf's arranger....How many original pieces based on "water" can you write in one year. Here is a later season West Chester performance though. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rnTBw9FRLV4

AntiKarma
Means "The Dream". Would it be too much to hope for some Symphonie Fantastique!? It does mean the dream in French. And yes, that would be too much to hope for, sorry. But maybe you'll like our selection for the ballad even more than that ;) Edited May 14, 2016 by AntiKarma
