leed17
I still remember vividly seeing Magic in 1990 for the first time. It was at Allentown during Prelims (remember those) VERY early on a Saturday morning. They were the first corps on, and I think it was before 9am! I had just arrived, sat in the upper deck, and was in some pain from having arm surgery during that week. It was only my third or fourth drum corps show in my life at age 22, and I guess I didn't expect much since they were first on. I also hadn't seen a "live" show since 1988 - missed the whole 89 season live due to being away for the summer playing ball. But man, Magic came at the few of us in the stands, and what a great sound. I totally forgot about the pain from the arm surgery at that point :) It was a great way to start prelims, and sure enough, they rose up the ranks over the next few years and finally cracked top 12 in 94 I think.
copyright
same corps in early August that year https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0iUYKLceEPs&nohtml5=False Interesting to see corps members wearing Suncoast jackets. 1990 was an interesting time for drum corps in Florida indeed.
