exitmusic Posted June 19, 2016 Share Posted June 19, 2016 It is not necessarily DCP's battle, but it appears when there are corps-produced videos that cannot be embedded into LotHype, they are ripping the video from Instagram and Facebook and uploaded to their own YouTube channel. Peel Paint Posted June 19, 2016 Share Posted June 19, 2016 My initial impression based on one viewing of these: BD: Don't need an announcement or uniform to pick this out as a BD design, though it's a little more traditional for them than some years in the past decade. Like 2015, good chance to engage audiences as well as judges. I could do without trombones in DCI, but BD makes great use of them for dark bendy-pitch effects. Some field clutter but minimal, and it enhances the show. As usual for BD, impressively clean for mid-June. Very enjoyable overall. Cadets: Dark dangerous show! Not sure I would guess that this was a Cadets design if I didn't know, which gets a thumbs-up. I think they've needed to shake their design up a bit and innovate more to contend with BD and Crown again. They face a challenging, high-velocity book they'll have to master without watering it down. I sense possibly-already-planned visual changes to come besides the brief section of unfinished drill in the middle. A potentially very crowd- and judge-engaging show that still works well early. Crossmen: Solid finalist contender, which may be presumptuous not having seen their peers, but Bones is off to a great start. Very accessible show that feels almost complete visually, other than perhaps one brief section early. They have cleaning to do, of course, but very manageable.
