Drums Across the Tri-State

The Tri-state being WV, KY and OH. The stadium is two blocks from the WV state capital in Charleston and the beautiful gold dome is breathtaking while lit up at night.

Featuring West Virginia's own drum corps, Phantom Regiment. Since we don't have a drum corps of our own and this is a home show sponsored by Phantom, we in turn have adopted them.

The highlight of any recent Drums Across the Tri-state is that Phantom does the encore, a show which is worth the price of admission by itself.

DATTS has been going for a long time. My first show in 1979 featured the eventual DCI champion, the up and coming Blue Devils! The 1980 show was a classic fight between Spirit of Atlanta and the winner, the Bridgemen.

West Virginia loves when the drum corps come to town and the high school bands show up in full force. Our bands here are mostly taught by WVU grads and they teach the kids how to behave at a show, so they are well behaved for the most part and very appreciative of the efforts corps from all over the country make to be here.

Sorry you can't make it this year Mr. Bridgand, next year for sure!

Dear heavens, at least get the facts straight about West Virginia. :w00t:

Mothman is the name of a cryptid speculated to exist after several reports of unidentified creatures seen in the Point Pleasant area of West Virginia from November 15, 1966, to December 15, 1967. The first newspaper report was published in the Point Pleasant Register dated November 16, 1966, titled "Couples See Man-Sized Bird ... Creature ... Something"

The corps show is a couple of hours from Mothman. The corps should be safe.

Interesting mix of corps, Dave. Can Pioneer break 65? Can the Colts close the gap on the Troopers? How will Phantom look going on last after Bloo?

And I agree with you about Phantom's encore. Should be great!
