George Dixon
7 hours ago, xandandl said: Hope not. But that cg designer in the vid from Villa Shanefield said something like going in a direction no corps has been before. 2016 male guard costumes were derivative of WGI and many other units and not very envelope breaking. You previously mused in a prior post that perhaps the corps logo would be imprinted as a major part of the design. Are you speculating, hinting, or teasing? As all corps have not announced but with one or two exceptions, I wonder if DCI is holding up the licensing process and not Tresoma. Perhaps the rights are only being bought from April to September first and the video and broadcast rights for another period. I don't know anything on this, just speculating as it seems odd that out of 40+ corps no more than four in either class have announced thus far. I don't think the Bloo effect would be that influential that quickly or unanimously. . A mostly creak uniform with a large version of the >>> logo across the front into the sleeves would look very cool. About a 3' tall version of the logo across the front and back wouldn't mind the colors reversed with a smaller logo and a wide stripe down the sleeves and slacks lots of cool options

About a 3' tall version of the logo across the front and back wouldn't mind the colors reversed with a smaller logo and a wide stripe down the sleeves and slacks lots of cool options Back in the olden days when corps, especially the Cadets, did drill and not just visuals, designers were always reminded by the staff that in an optimum world the front and back of the uniform would not vary in approach. This was so the drill writer could change the directions of MMs within the same subset and not have it look too confusing or cluttered. Of course, you had uniforms like Boston's when they were much smaller back in the previous decades and wore an entirely different color on the back to make the ensemble look bigger. Then there were Cavaliers of course who tried green on the front and black on the back to make the MMs in their black pants and black accessories look taller. But needless to say, the master front/back switch was the 2005 (and 2006) Cadets for whom the change of direction and look was part of a winning kaleidoscopic velocity drill. It brought back great memories of 128 great people plus staff 30 (OMG) years ago. If I remember correctly the "horse whinny" in this and in the final edition was soprano player Jeff Sacktig. The only humourous (Canadian spelling for you) snarky comment you missed was: "That opening dance sequence centerfield was choreographed by Zildjian." Thanks again. . Just to clarify - I just found the video, I don't know who did the running commentary in it. He also got one thing wrong - he mentioned the "9/8" section, but it was alternating 2/4 and 5/8 (9/8 would be easy with no "halt" in the step like the 5/8).. you can see here at "31"

Sully commented on this in 2005 The Zone. Cleaning body angles was paramount due to the alternate back uniform errrr costume, no uni design.
