I do agree...but I have loved every one of their shows under this new team so much.  I think they did the 4 Seasons theme way better and less hit over your head than anyone I can remember...but it is still a 4 Seasons show.

I think they can maintain what I love and still be boundary pushing.  Wonder if we will get a safer throwback show or them pushing the activity really hard like they did in years long ago.  Both honor their traditions in REALLY different ways. I still love the idea of building a show around Send in the Clowns paired with a lot of other new stuff.

If they retread again,  I'm gonna be disappointed.  It's like they're wasting all the talent they've got.

You have to have the talent pool to realize the potential of top 3 designs. I feel that SCV's design has been tailor made for their talent for the past 3 years, and talent+show design has been increasing each of the past few years. It's just a feeling.

Talent -- yes.  Not seeing the show design increasing at all.   But maybe you're right and they're gonna spring some amazing design on us this season.

And we're assuming Cadets have hit a skid and Cavies won't improve.

Yeah, I need to see some more high placement with Cavies (not a one hit wonder show).  We also need to see how Cadets are gonna cope with the staff changes.

Would love to see them return to musical theater for 2017. This type of stuff just screams Vanguard to me:

Thanks for reminding us what a fabulous musical drill looks like.

ah, those were the days: SCV, Cadets, Star, Cavies...

Definitely the most distinctive sounding percussion section.  I can always tell it is them just by the tunings and rep.  If I had to use one word to describe SCV percussion it would be ESNSEMBLE!
