I love Bhatia's music. Speaking of which, I FINALLY found a high-quality recording of the section of his "Interstellar Suite" that Crown played in 2014.

Now I want to hear an arrangement of this for an actual orchestra.

I'll take snakes eating their own tails over caterpillars morphing to butterflies any day.  Sorry - it's just more cool.

Over the last 11 years SCV has changed A TON, lots of staff changes, overhauls, acquisitions, styles, and approaches.  But the one thing that remains the same is Pete Weber.  Still around after all those evolutions.  He's a freaking genius and probably my favorite active drill writer.  I can't wait to see his work again this summer, and the thought of it being enhanced by Michael Gaines being there?  Oooooooooh yes.  Bring it on.

Aside from a couple seasons (Ballet for Martha, Les Mis), SCV shows have all had the same "feel" to me since 1997. And Pete Weber has a lot to do with that (only two drill writers during that span, though I think Ron Hardin did a lot of rewriting in 2005).

Absolutely, they have a very distinct visual design style (the really tight curvlinear high velocity FTL stuff mixed with the quickly morphing angular and linear drill) that has remained constant from Myron Rosander (miss him so much) and now through Pete Weber.

Percussion move-ins today here at UNT. They're already making them run laps around campus

Do you mean that they haven't been doing that daily in the off season like Cadets, Crown, Bloo and probably now Bahstahn? One doesn't build up endurance in a week unless 50th anniversary means returning to up and down the 50 drum lines.
