The Cavaliers 2017

I can't wait for them to announce their rep. Listened to Come Fly With Me by Sinatra today and I don't see why that wouldn't be what they're doing

Percussion early move ins. Guard early move ins with a Chicago dance company.

I'm sure the Dance Company experience will be a very good one.

Can't wait to get more details on Cavaliers 2017. I have a feeling the program will be something quite special. Wouldn't be shocked if they medal..

If not Fly Me To The Moon, maybe My Way????

If it is My Way it would be an amazing closer that could get the crowd to its feet! It does fit the show theme. What man doesn't think it's My Way or the highway...lol (jk btw).

lyrics are fitting to DCI:

And now, the end is near
And so I face the final curtain
My friend, I'll say it clear
I'll state my case, of which I'm certain

I've lived a life that's full
I've traveled each and every highway
But more, much more than this
I did it my way

Regrets, I've had a few
But then again, too few to mention
I did what I had to do
And saw it through without exemption

I planned each charted course
Each careful step along the byway
And more, much more than this
I did it my way

Yes, there were times, I'm sure you knew
When I bit off more than I could chew
But through it all, when there was doubt
I ate it up and spit it out
I faced it all and I stood tall
And did it my way

I've loved, I've laughed and cried
I've had my fill my share of losing
And now, as tears subside
I find it all so amusing

To think I did all that
And may I say - not in a shy way
Oh no, oh no, not me
I did it my way

For what is a man, what has he got
If not himself, then he has naught
To say the things he truly feels
And not the words of one who kneels
The record shows I took the blows
And did it my way

Yes, it was my way.

Since my wife doesn't follow drum corps and I am an FMM, I will agree that the lyrics are perfect for this show.

Anyone tells my wife and I will challenge her to actually come on this site and learn to appreciate drum corps.

After all, it is "My Way"

Bump.

Lately, I've been listening a lot to Laurie Anderson's "O Superman." The entire last minute of that piece is just screaming for a drum corps hornline to play it. I'll be super disappointed if the Cavaliers don't use that section.

When I first listened to the piece it reminded me a lot of Einstein on the Beach. Interesting enough after researching, come to find that Laurie Anderson did the vocals for Phillip Glass on Einstein.

FYI: Listen to the faster version of O Superman she does with David Bowie. Pretty cool stuff.

Pretour officially started this morning with a cool leadership workshop led by an alum and Deloitte.

Early move-ins for the drums took place this last week. As well, the guard had early move-ins with the Visceral dance studio in Chicago. The guard looked to be practicing improv dance as well as ballet, I'm looking forward to improved dance movement in drum corps colorguards.

Agree I need my drum corps fix big time.  This off season had so many twist and turns it seemed very very long!
