Cadets playing [REDACTED] is probably the worst kept secret in east coast marching circles this winter. Everyone knows what it is, they're just waiting for pemission from the estate to officially announce,  which at that rate means they'll announce it the day of the first show like Bloo did last year.

Hmm . . . "estate" implies the composer is dead. Elton John, Tim Rice, and Hans Zimmer are all still with us, so it seems The Lion King is unlikely.

Isn't there some prominent dead American composer like Leonard Bernstein whose estate announced several years ago that they were severely reducing licensing opportunities?

Carmina Burana???? Didn't Orffs estate have a hold on that?

Staff and membership have both seemed incredibly confident that it's the show, so maybe they worked something out for licensing...

Even if they don't have the rights documented yet, they certainly would have some ground covered by now. I am very curious as to the process and stipulations, if any.
