BRASSO
Boston within an inch of their lives to continue the stat this year! True enough. it really is a tribute to the 2016 marchers, staff that they rallied, and were able to pull it off, when just 15 days earlier it looked to many as if that commendable 18 year consecutive Finals streak was in serious jeopardy of ending.

Tad_MMA
Some trivia: Devils existed but did not appear in Whitewater in '72. They were 24th in '73, 9th in '74, and 3rd in '75. They've been in the top 5 ever since. Crossmen were founded by merger in 1975. They made finals for the first time in '77. Spirit of Atlanta was founded in '77, when they finished 23rd. In '78 they leapt to 6th. Suncoast Sound took five years to make finals for the first time in '83. Star of Indiana is the only corps ever to make finals in their first year of existence. They made finals every year through 1993, when they withdrew from competition. took their ball and went home.
Tad_MMA
Um... Freelancers... First time in Finals was 1976. After that we "only" made finals another nine times... most recently in 1992. Pretty insignificant corps to the history of DCI. Two of my all-time favorite DCI shows: 1985 (Immanuel and Bells. Wow!) And 1989. Wonderful effect! Tad_MMA
Garfield placed TENTH in the 1972 Prelims. Unfortunately for them, they were given a 1.8 penalty for God knows what. That dropped them to 13th. Youch. They should have worn black then, as they were Friday the 13th. ::bows::

My hat is off to the red and black. They did what they had to do. They dreamed the not-so-impossible dream.
