Edit: I want to elaborate my very tired post from last night. I have watched the show many times online this year and I just love it. The trombone soloist really brings it. Best soloist of the night. This is such a fun, down and dirty show...in some ways new but in some ways the type of old school show I thought I would never get to experience live. IMO, this show has better design and execution than last year. The visual demand is so athletic and intense. The competition is better this year I guess? I don't think this show is supposed to be pristine, well polished and clean. I think it's supposed to be big, intense, dirty jazz. The ballad is beautiful and a nice break in the action. (Just click play) Funny you say that. I was listening to Connexus the other day and noticed a long snare roll and rimshot that was identical to the one they did in last year's Down-Side Up. oldbandguy Posted August 9, 2017 Share Posted August 9, 2017 The corps had a great CANTON police escort to the stadium last night...several motorcycles and 4 cruisers. I had some friends tell me they were in a long line of traffic going to the show when they heard the sirens and saw the lights.
