The new young administration team for BD is revitalizing that place and I can't wait to go visit on Memorial weekend. I am really liking the new director a lot. He personally sent me a thank you email for the photos I donated to the corps. You mean Justin? He is top shelf, all the way. -Edit- Oops..forgot Justin is CEO of the parent organization, not BD director. My bad. Popular Post DrumManTx
This show to me seems to be the show people who haven't enjoyed Blue Devils a ton as of late would want......pretty broad and accessible concept on the surface despite the fluff in the announcement, greatly reduced number of musical selections including an incredibly melodic and beautiful pick for what I assume is the ballad, and we know they're gonna perform the hell out of it as always. Guess Blue Devils are ###### if they do and ###### if they don't to some people......I'm excited.

I think it would be cool to let more corps experience Mars. The new photos look nice. (new turf and building etc.)

Oh I totally agree, was just speaking from the perspective of someone who might have been turned off by some of their recent offerings.

Worst rehearsal site I've ever had to work on....yet what I wouldn't give to set foot on it once again....to stand on my beginning or ending set and let the memories return. To a Blue Devil, Mars is a close to a sacred site as it gets. Truth

It remains a common trope in modern fantasy, children's literature, and works of popular culture. The shaman and the showman both have pondered the mystery and magic of metamorphosis. This most profound act of change can emerge beyond the scientific explanation to reveal a metaphor of growth, evolution, and inspiration. With a multilayered musical and visual tribute to the past, present and future, the Blue Devils present their 2017 program Metamorph. From a California community of rhythmical dreamers to a global brand of music and motion, the Blue Devils take flight from a cocoon of history and imagination. Metamorph resonates with music by composers such as Peter Graham and Simon Dobson and, at its heart, the prophetic "Everything Must Change" by Bernard Ighner. Metamorph rises in an upward trajectory of reflection and revelation. “A DREAMER IS ONE WHO CAN ONLY FIND HIS WAY BY MOONLIGHT, AND HIS PUNISHMENT IS THAT HE SEES THE DAWN BEFORE THE REST OF THE WORLD.” – OSCAR WILDE As the Blue Devils organization celebrates its diamond anniversary, the transformation unfolds as a feast of memories and exploration. The creativity and excellence of 60 years is a vast legacy of incredible performers and the ascension of a drum and bell corps to Drum Corps International's most honored ensemble. Showcasing 150 talented performers, the 2017 Blue Devils travel the United States shifting shape and sound through the discovery and artistry of Metamorph.
