Musically, only the opener rocked me and after far too much build-up of noise, any hype they had, they killed by drawing it out way too long. The battery writing clashed horribly with the brass. I know that chatter of different phrasing, claiming it’s symphonic (even though a symphony wouldn’t play like that) but it fought against the brass instead of supporting it. Didn’t work I feel the trilogy was going to the well too many times and they need something very new next year. I hope they lose the melodramatic voice over that sound like junior high schoolers trying to affect ‘being deep’. Seems we’ve had that for the past 5 years or more….’ Because’ was good, their other recent offerings didn’t speak to me. After seeing the percussion audition book for 2017, I think they're going to go in a new direction and be hot as heck. But that's just me. Your mileage may vary.
