Jason Rose
The question was recently asked about the presence of a DCA Corps in Texas. I can't definitively answer that question, but I can tell you that All-Age Drum Corps in Houston is alive and well once again now that Bayou City Blues is back. To avoid a long discussion of internal politics, let's just keep this simple: Bayou City Blues turned into Gulf Coast Sound for a decade and now the name has been changed back. BCB is not a part of DCA and likely won't be due to logistics, finances, and geography. We learned a few things during the GCS years. DCI SoundSport is a viable, local alternative and we're embracing it. 2016 was the first season back and it was a success. We're stepping things up quite a bit for 2017. It's going to be exciting and a lot of fun. If you'd like to know more about the Corps and our plans, please ask. I'm happy to answer any questions. Our first rehearsal is December 10 on Galveston Island. Several Corps have performed on the island over the years, but this might just be the first ever rehearsal/camp down there. Kansan
Yes, Sound Sport is the best thing going for All Age Corps located too far away from DCA. Prairie Sound Drum & Bugle Corps of Olathe, KS is going the same direction.
Jason Rose
Would be great to see Prairie Sound again. The rumor is that we will be "touring" around Texas in 2017. I hope our paths cross.
