Is Atlanta in or out?

Recommended Posts

I wonder which scores will be used for the Prelims order now that there is not a true Southeastern Championship with all the corps participating

My guess is a combination of the scores from Powder Springs and Winston-Salem. Corps that appear at both should either receive the higher of two scores or, better yet, have them averaged to determine the one score that will be used for Prelims seeding.

video is not public.

did a bit of snooping around.

appears the stadium will be done by the (revised) June 1st completion date.

of course that has no bearing on whether or not DCI can afford to host an event there if the rates are higher than anticipated.

webcam pic from inside the stadium yesterday. structural steel is largely done. things will fly once they get those roof supports in the center jacked down (already removed one).

OK... this is either a picture of the new Falcons stadium, or an artist's rendering of the Bluecoats' 2017 show.

July. Atlanta. Outdoors. What could go wrong? You can probably leave your sweater at home.

Yeah but MB says they're gonna be ready in June.

well they havent updated their website in 4 months

lets face it, the stadium will be done so it's main tenants get priority. nothing i have found online gives any real concrete estimate

this says Juneish maybe early July...cutting it close for DCI, plus the Georgia Dome kinda has to go away too

I agree... better safe than sorry when it comes to stadium availability. All sorts of factors can delay a scheduled opening.

Anytime I hear "It should be ready"... I get a bad feeling. LOL. The same feeling I get when I'm set to do a PA gig, and the stadium audio person tells me the battery for the wireless mike "should be fine."

yeah you need to read the ACJ for actual updates. but the webcam is always up-to-date.

So Atlantans and Georgians, give us best advice.

Beauty of Georgia Dome was that I flew in, hopped the link from Hartsfield to Centennial Park, walked to hotel and nearby stadium, even Church for Sunday was around the corner before flying back on Sunday.

Recommendations for nearby restaurants and eateries.

Will the new contest site require a car for us out-of-towners, what are the better venues nearby for housing, will a tour of Carrollton and Woodstock be on the daytrip?
