Corps Banquets

I'm just curious, do they still have corps banquets in the fall or is that a thing of the past since so many members are from out of town?

I can't say for other corps...but I think Boston has their corps banquet on Sunday the day after finals...or at least that is what I remember anyhow...

It seems like many/most have gone to that method.

From Santa Clara having theirs usually in the shadow of the Allentown show weekend to the number of Indianapolis hotels offering packages to the corps and fans for Championship week rooms and banquet halls. most corps seem to be having their banquet during Championship week or the day after. As the kids travel back to so many different places and go from the banquets to flights home or college, the banquets are not the cotillions they once were. They are still quite meaningful to the MMs however.

There are some corps, particularly Open corps, who still hold their banquets before the calendar year finishes.

Crown has their banquet on Sunday after Finals.

PC had their banquet several weeks after the end of the season.

In 2015 there sure were a lot of mm at the airport after finals. Granted, some may be from corps who already had their banquet.

The Crossmen had it the day after Allentown the last two years. It works well because a few Pennsylvania alumni help organize it and alumni are welcome to attend.
