I watched stadium security escort two folks out. Neither were associated with Cadets, BD at that time, nor Vanguard at that time. Like protestors at some political rallies, some folks come to events just to stir trouble Most folks would never call me a GH fan. But being there in the stadium that night and knowing the 2007 drill, I believed he made the right call and I still believe that. Perhaps he should have told the corps just to walk to the back side line and wait rather than to march toward the exit. Unfortunately, the kids became the pawns between the DCI staff and the corps admin. If Zingali were still alive then, believe me the tempers would have roared. (Remember Columbus, Ohio?). . I think the stress of the moment in a rather unexpected and perhaps first time in DCI history situation, , the first time that finals were in the Republic of California, and the inept situation of the Rose Bowl (unprepared stadium staff, no handicap seating, bathrooms only out in the parking lots, no ADA acceptable way to one's seats since the ancient place had been grandfathered) all heightened the West vs. the World tension making what should have been a minor fix a major matter. JUST an opinion. do you mean the 2007 show as designed or do you mean the Pasadena performance by the kids. The music book and its performance were great IMHO; the drill was super. garfield Posted April 27, 2017 Share Posted April 27, 2017 (edited) The most hyped I EVER remember the stands prior to a show was Phantom '08. But the anticipation for Academy '16 was really neat, too. When they came out onto the field Friday night in the Oil Can you could feel the tension, but when they came out on Saturday night it was all love and respect and anticipation. Honorable mention was Garfield's 3-pete win, Crown's winning Saturday night performance, and SCV's 1988 Phantom of the Opera. As far as boo-ing is concerned, the last time I heard that significant negative reaction was the last time there was a tie on Saturday night.
